Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, I am after some advice/help please, the wiring to my knock sensor has broken at the connector end. My mechnic has asked whether I can source a new connector and some tails so he can mend it. Porsche want to sell me an entire loom! There are some similar looking connectors on eBay as the sensor is OEM for quite a few different manufacturers. Knock sensor wiring issues seem quite common has anyone any experience of the right connector for the Bosch sensor, or a 3rd party repair kit? My car is an 02 C4S if it helps? cheers, Tom

POST 2Original post

What part of the wiring has broken? A picture would be helpful. A new knock sensor comes with the wiring and a plug. Is it the male part that has broken? http://www.autoatlanta.com/Porsche-9...sors-srch.html

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Joe, It's knock sensor 2 so comes without a loom part number 99660612500. According to my mechanics the wiring is broken/snapped/severed at the connector, I would presume somehow had pulled at it when trying to get it loose, it's quite tight in there! Would take a pic, but I'm on hols and car is back home, so also trying to sort remotely. Although have now found a dude from PCGB who is breaking a Boxster (same knock sensor) and is sending me the connector and tails for cost of postage and a coffee. So hopefully all sorted now! Thanks anyway Tom
