Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The clutch was replaced by previous owner only a few 100kms ago - the car has only travelled 1,000kms in last 3 years!

The PPI highlighted a faulty dual mass flywheel as the only significant item, and I negotiated a proce reduction with the private seller to cover about 75% of the cost of the part (LUK), which will be fitted at the same time as the gearbox comes out to replace the IMS bearing (LN Engineering).

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

As per my earlier thread requesting help with appraising a prospective purchase, many thanks to the help I gained here, and I am now the proud owner of my first Porsche, a '03 C2 manual 996 in Basalt Black metallic, with full leather option.
The car has travelled only 64,000kms, or 40,000miles, and is in exceptional condition.
I have now done a paint correction on it using a Rupes Dual Action polisher and Rupes medium and fine polishes and finished up with Farecla G3 wax. The result is stunning - mirror-like finish and all of the fine swirls from careful but years of standard washing have gone!

On delivery it had 997 vinyl look-alike covers on the headlights which I removed immediately - my personal strong preference is to have a car looking original.
First I just have to say New Zealand is gorgeous.
Then I'll say congrats on the purchase! When you have the time I think we are going to want... no, NEED photos of the two of them together.
I wish you happy trails in good health!
It is!
Main roads are well patrolled, but so many fantastic off the beaten track country roads to enjoy, and many of them are a *****-out drive under the legal limit anyway (100kph everywhere)
Coming on and off the power in 5th or 6th gear they detected a soft thunk and lag, more felt than heard, in the drivetrain.
