Suggestion · Original poster

Anyone here know if it's possible to replace the standard FRONT, turbo-style bumper on a C4S with a 996.2 narrow-body bumper, such as the one on a 996.2 C2?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone here know if it's possible to replace the standard FRONT, turbo-style bumper on a C4S with a 996.2 narrow-body bumper, such as the one on a 996.2 C2? And by possible, I mean is the fit more or less exact, or would modification of the bumper and/or car be required?

POST 2Original post

it is not, the widebody one is 30mm wider, it would need considerable modification to add that much extra out of curiosity but why would you want to do that? the turbo style one is far nicer imo

POST 3Original post

The front end of the narrow body car is the same width as the wide body car, so width isn't an issue there. I would be more concerned about the larger ducts and radiators of a C4S fitting underneath a C2 bumper. I know several people have gone the other way, and installed a C4S front bumper on a C2. A narrow body rear bumper will not fit on a C4S.

POST 4Original post

for some reason i was thinking the rear, but yeah i agree with you on all of that

Are you looking to swap yours out???

POST 6Original post

I immediately thought front, but the OP doesn't really specify front or rear.

POST 7Original post

Every time I see "bumper switch," I momentarily hope this is some bogus "blinker fluid" type thread, and then I remember that "switch" means "swap."

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Depending upon how confident I am of the fit and performance, yes I am considering a swap. I need to be very sure of everything, though.

Sorry folks, updated original post to make clear I'm talking about the FRONT bumper.

the front bumper swaps with a C2, do you have one already or are you interested in trading?
