Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The window switch cubby is the M580 non-smoker option one, I am replacing my ashtray one with this one.

I did replace the door mirror triangles w/ new grey ones, I thought that painting those blue would be a bit much next to the blue HVAC ducts.

Note that you have to change the light ring as well b/c of the different diameter.

A center console delete would really set the interior off.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Check this out...had these painted to match my exterior color and my factory painted center console. Work was done by BumperPlugs in NC. Gonna look sweet!!
The interior is graphite grey with the factory deviating carpet color option in metropol blue. The center console and seat backs were painted midnight blue (the exterior color) from the factory. These pieces will match those in the same exterior color. The window switch cubby is the M580 non-smoker option one, I am replacing my ashtray one with this one.
Looks great! I have been on the fence about how much color I want to add to the interior. Currently it is all black except for the center console I painted. Really interested to see how it looks in your car.
Taking the side vents apart was interesting. The ducts are ultrasonically welded to the housing...cut them very carefully with a series of very sharp x-acto knives. The guide tabs remained intact so I should be able to slide them back together then hit them with a dab of epoxy.
Please post interior pics after install, I'd like to do something similar on mine, with same interior and exterior colors to your car. Currently I only have the center console painted to match the exterior color. Thanks,
Looking forward to seeing both your Spyder and Carrera. Are you planning to attend the Poudre Sports Car's 45th Anniversary on the 10th? I plan on attending.

Hi Guys I started installing the parts today. I am still waiting on the non-smokers power outlet to come in that I ordered so I have not put the upper center console in yet. I also decided to send the instrument cluster bezel out to be painted blue as well, since mine was scratched up and they are not sold individually from Porsche (you have to buy the entire cover for $$$).
Here's some pics from today...
I got everything finished up and I promised you guys some final photos. I ended up sending the instrument cluster bezel out to get painted as well since mine was scraped up by the PO where the microphone cover goes in (I assume from removing it). While I was at that I replaced the dash trim around the steering column and the steering column clamshell and rubber stalk gaskets. I learned that the dash trim is NLA from Porsche in every color except for black, which I think looks fine anyhow.
My goal was just to get rid of ALL the nasty soft touch plastic that I could. I did replace the door mirror triangles w/ new grey ones, I thought that painting those blue would be a bit much next to the blue HVAC ducts.
Here are the photos of the finished product, I am very pleased with the results. Photos both in the sun and in the garage.
Nicely done, really transform the interior look... I have the same exterior and interior color combo and I also don't like the soft-touch material for the interior. I already had my center console painted to match the exterior color as well, but now I am tempted to the same dash pieces painted like yours. Thanks for sharing your latest Mods. Cheers,
Looks great,
Whats the deal with the non-smokers power outlet? I'd heard of the ash-tray delete but not this. Is a Porsche part & whats the advantage over plugging a charger into the original cigarette lighter?
Thanks
It's a different size that is supposed to hold charging devices better. Yes they are parts available from Porsche and listed in the parts catalog. Note that you have to change the light ring as well b/c of the different diameter. The parts are listed with a note of M580 option in the dash section of the parts manual.
It changes to a cigarette with a slash through it (as in the no smoking sign).
The part numbers you need are:
996 652 103 00 "Plug socket M580 option" This includes the socket as well as the black "no smoking" plug cap.
and
996 652 104 00 "Tensioning sleeve M580 option"
Not sure why they call it a tensioning sleeve, it's the light ring or what they call a "headlight unit" on the cigarette lighter in the parts manual.
The green lightbulb holder/contact is re-used from your original cigarette lighter, no change in that part.
