Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Only issue was I had just filled the tank and had to siphon about 1/2 of the gas out.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My fuel pump failed and left me stranded. Hindsight, it gave me subtle warnings. My car starts consistently on about 2 crank rotations, but on 2 occasions, it took more than a few cranks to start. Replacing it was pretty easy. Only issue was I had just filled the tank and had to siphon about 1/2 of the gas out. Out of curiosity, I took apart the fuel pump and from the pics, you can see the armature had worn down completely as had one of the brushes. These motors are completely submersed in gas and rely on fuel to provide cooling and lubrication. Good thing I changed my filter!

I bought the new pump off amazon. It has become increasingly convenient to order car parts at night and have them show up by the next afternoon. jim

POST 6Original post

That is awesome and thank you for sharing. It's always neat to see the inner workings of components and their faults or cause for removal and replacement. I wonder if mine is starting to look like that inside the gas tank due to in service life and time. I agree that Amazon is a great supplier for certain parts and love their fast delivery and sometimes low prices
