Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok I understand Porsche tax, but $1200 for C4S exhaust tips. Really? What makes those so expensive? I know you can buy after-market tips for less. I just don't get that price point. There must be a huge % markup on those things! Just can't be anyway to justify that price given manufacturing processes available today. I.E.: I'm sure there isn't some little old craftsman hand rolling and welding those items!

POST 2Original post

Even though turbo tips look the same they are not so don't order them thinking they will be a direct bolt on. Turbo 70mm pipe c4s 60mm pipe ebay is your friend several sets at the 2-300$ range

POST 3Original post

Hey Billy, I believe this is the site where I ordered my tips. I replaced the oval tips from my 996, and these fit within the stock bumper. http://www.maxspeed-motorsports.com/..._Style%29.html A bit pricey, but I've had them 4 years and they are in new condition, stainless steel is excellent quality. Good luck!

POST 4Original post

I bought my replacement quad turbo tips off ebay. I think I paid $175. The OEM ones cost 4x that. Figured the ebay ones were worth a shot, but expected them to be cheesy. They turned out to be exactly like the OEM and have held up well.

Porsche tax is a very real thing... definitely makes for some surprising discoveries. I've got a high-quality set of 996 tips available in polished chrome or black chrome for 450 which is a whole lot better than 1200

POST 8Original post

I got these: http://www.fabspeed.com/porsche-996-...yle-tips-long/ Couldn't be more happy.

I've got those also, albeit the 996.1 (short) version. Excellent fit and finish, and I'm very pleased with them as well.
