Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

In replacing the drop links, I mounted them in the exact same position as the drop links I replaced; mounted with the lower bolts of the drop links attached to the sway bar with the lock nut facing outward.

I just replaced the Front Drop Links on my 2004 911 C4S using a few YouTube videos as guides.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just replaced the Front Drop Links on my 2004 911 C4S using a few YouTube videos as guides. In replacing the drop links, I mounted them in the exact same position as the drop links I replaced; mounted with the lower bolts of the drop links attached to the sway bar with the lock nut facing outward. I then realized none of the videos I watched were for a C4S. I would think all drop links would be attached the same way for all 996's. However, in the videos I watched of other 996's, the lower bolts attached to the sway bar were pointed inward. Can anyone clarify if this position is correct for C4S? Thanks! Drop Link replaced in the exact same position as the drop link I replaced with the lock nut outward.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, I now remember watching this video again before starting this project. Another one I watched was from Kevin's European Garage and the bottom bolts were reversed.

POST 4Original post

I would think however they fit without interfering with other parts is ok
