Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

If you store your 996 or only drive it occasionally, please read this: http://www.thedrive.com/opinion/5189...rs-fatal-crash It could save your life.

POST 2Original post

Not sure I think much of the writer, but I agree with his point. The previous set of tires on the 996 had gotten up to 6 years old. They looked fine until I got up real close one day and found they were cracking all over. I'm still shocked we never had a blow out. Grip-wise I had no clue how bad they had gotten until we put the new ones on. The age of tires is certainly something I'll pay much more attention to in the future.

How to read the date your tire was manufactured.

POST 4Original post

Good article. I like Matt Farah and his videos. Seems like a cool car guy that knows a lot about cars but doesn't come off as a know it all.

This is the only thing I've (knowingly) read from him, but he came off a bit preachy and "look who I know" for my taste and in ways that took away from the good advice he was trying to convey. His "look who I know" commentary also kinda came off as "we happened to be in the same room, but not necessarily at the same time" to me too

POST 7Original post

Great advice buried in a lengthy diatribe. Needs: tl;dr: Old tires are dangerous.

I agree with that. Check out his videos on youtube if you get bored one day... the smoking tire is his handle. He also did some for /drive .
