Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Not sure if you sorted out the bushings, but I ended up using a touch of PTFE grease to ease them in.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm nearly done installing the Fabspeed Competition Intake on my 04 996. I have two questions to resolve before I can finish it. First, how do you get the bushings to mount the shield through the holes in the frame rail? I've tried to force them in, but holes seem way too small. Secondly, please refer to the diagram below. There's a venturi hose (#17) that connects to the stock airbox (#9). There's no comparable connector on the Fabspeed part. What do you do with the venturi hose - cap it off somehow? TIA

POST 2Original post

For the vent tube you'll need to get a small breather, this exact question came up a few months ago. You can get small breathers from all the major auto stores.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks. I was hoping that's all it was.

POST 4Original post

Not sure if you sorted out the bushings, but I ended up using a touch of PTFE grease to ease them in. I seem to use that crap all the time.

Thanks, but I just trimmed a little of the rubber and was able to squeeze them in.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
