Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This is for a 2000 Cabriolet. I bought the car heavily discounted because of problems with the top and rear windows. I finally got my hands on a pair of rear window regulators and have started the disassembly process. It became clear that the previous owner had apparently already tried a half-arsed effort and given up. This became obvious when I tried to remove the rear driver's side interior panel as the hex bolt where the upper rear seat latches onto was completely stripped on the inside. Further analysis revealed that the business end of the aluminum red hex tool that comes with the car was obviously used for this effort as it has a bit of a twist that I'm sure was not there from factory. The photos below show the bolt from the other side, which actually came out quite easily when using the right tool. (both rear window reglulators were shot on my car). As it is not a critical part and I wanted to replace it with a good one anyway, I decided to try my luck with vice grips but all I did was destroy the bolt in the process. In the end, I cut off the bolt so I could get the panel off and move forward. I will end up drilling it out later and (hopefully) get it out with an extractor tool. The bolt is torqued in there as if the world depended on it... Anway, here are pics of the two parts I need to source. I would be happy just to get part numbers to make ordering the parts easier. This is where the bolt is used (photo from coupe, borrowed from another thread). I do not know if the bolt is the same for coupe and cabriolet, but it looks the same. The Cab does not have the integrated rear receiver: Thanks in advance for any help...
