Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone: I have a 99 with a stock (non aero), front bumper, and I am looking at front spoiler options. For now, I am considering Porsche factory/oem options. But I am aware of aftermarket. Here are the part numbers I have, and their respective applications: 996.505 986 02 G2X aero kit 2 *996.505.986.90 - GT3 Cup Front Splitter for 99-01 996 996.505.986.91 gt3 cup front splitter Motorsports RS cup lip *996.505.986.00 aero 1 lip 996.505.986.92 G2X aero 2 larger gt3 996.505.555.02.01C C4S 02-05 996 505 986 92.01c GT3 02/now 93.01c 996.505 555.30.01c 02-05 turbo One reason I am considering these is they are of the abs/urethane type, so scrapping and dragging over speed bumps and the driveway won't do as much damage. The two I know that will fit for sure are the 996.505.986.00 and .90. Very subtle, but from what I have read, do add something when paired with a rear wing; which is what I am doing. I have seen 996.505.986.92 G2X on an 2002-05 stock non aero front bumper, but I know there are differences. Does anyone know if it is possible to use the 996.505.986.92 G2X on a 99? Regardless of drilling? Thanks, Paul

First off it would be very cost prohibitive to go with new OEM aero. Best would be to find them used at places like LA Dismantlers. You will only be able to use the MK1 aero bumper as the headlights on MK2 cars are different and won't match up to the bumper. If you have a '99, you only have one aero bumper choice.
