The items inside were well wrapped with bubble wrap, but had about another fifty pieces of randomly scattered re-purposed form-fitted foam (for a form markedly different from the parts in the carton) inside the carton.

The items that I received were OEM, but there were clear indications that the items were used with wear marks, evidence of repair, and the finish was not factory, but clearly aftermarket with blemishes.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The pandemic is still having an impact on shipping.
Hello. I ordered a set of 996 Euro GT3 seats. Sent $9000 US. These seats were boxed and ready to ship. That was a little less than a month ago and they have yet to ship.
Anyone have any feedback good or bad with him and any recent transactions? I researched his reputation before sending the funds. Many said they sent many thousands of dollars to him and he came through.
I'll updated the thread as we go with hopefully good news they have shipped.
Thanks for your help.
Mike
Wired via bank. Seller offers a 25% restocking fee which is basically $2250 out the window. Why a restocking fee when they haven't even shipped but yeah there is that.
I don't want a refund at this stage in the game, I've waited this long, I do want my $9000 seats I paid for though.
Yes, he replies every now and then. Surely not like it was pre-payment when he was trying to sell them.
First delay was international wire to clear which is expected...so an expected delay
2nd delay was really strange. These were boxed and ready to go....didn't ship in the 1st 10 days after bank check clearing then he states....
We sent your skins back to Recaro to be redone as we wanted them to be perfect.....
10 days ish later, skins apparently arrived back from Recaro....they are ready to ship..
3rd delay: Covid issues, Porsche Factory is even closed, Shipping isn't happening right now...
So that's where we are now. He still hasn't sent me pics of the actual seats.. and I've been asking for over 3 weeks.
Thanks to everyone for their concern. I'm hoping for a good resolution
Update 12 2 21 4pm EST:
Seats have been packed and ready to go. He forgot to take pics so he needs to unpack them.
But can't work now due to restrictions.

Got a few pics of the leather which was repaired by Recaro and a picture of the packaged box.
Seats are insured for full $9000 USD
This was a good thread to post. Many things came to light.
1: It Shows Vitaly cares. Maybe he was really busy before and couldn't give me detailed info I was seeking?
2nd: I finallly got some pics
3rd: My seats are really to be picked up once their restricitons are over.
Yeah, sometimes I wonder why I paid $9000 for them. It sounded much better at $7000 euro + shipping.
Can't wait to get the federal, you owe me money, tax paperwork from this purchase
In the end, if they are as advertised I'll have some good seat with a great story. Walter Rohrl sat in these seats!! That's THE story. That's worth the extra $5g no? lol
The very next day I wired the funds, I found / purchased a mint black set in Ohio for $4400. The world is round and cost average between the two sets is easier to swallow

As a former Golf Pro who has seen Caddy Shack 200 + times, I can appreciate where this thread is going.
Once the seats arrive I will Christen them "THE FLYING WASP!"
thanks to everyones thoughts and comments and concern. Without these forums we are just individuals. Pics received and apparently they had to repackage them so now I have 2 packages coming. Not one. I have 2 DHL tracking numbers. Ill update once they arrive.
Lol. Someting like that....and oh yea....Walter Rohrl used them in Scandanavia for testing.
His test seats were CF backs and had a ONE OF ONE heat element in GT3 seats with this gray leather.
That's right..heated buckets were being tested to be a thing!!
In the end Porsche decided against going with the heated seats and Vitaly installed them in his car. I saw all these details and believe it to be truth!
You had me at Walter Rohrl. I don't care if they are cut and open wounds. My *** will be sitting where his was. Pretty sure I'm a better driver already.
How cool is that?
And just to finally answer your questions. Those are my seats, they used them as advertising. They can get new Recaro skins from Recaro is what they were trying to say. Got lost in translation some where
I've decided to do DNA testing on the seat leather. Can anyone get a piece of chewing gum from Mr. Rohrl?
Here are the test seats from his testing in Scandanavia.
Could you imagine if the 996 GT3 got these CF buckets and heated elements! Gotta cut costs somewhere I guess.
I'll end up taking these leather skins off and smoothing out the bodies.
My upholsterer is downstairs from my office and makes sure all my seats are done to a high standard. I know the leather is 20 years old but from pics it looks like they need a little help. It looks like we will need to put some dacron between the body and the frame. As you can see from the original seats they were stuffed pretty good, which explains the wrinkles now.
I think that's better than trying to shrink the leather.
How tall are you? I'm 6'2" and just installed my GT3 seats a couple weeks ago. To my astonishment, they are considerably higher up than the stock 996 sport seats.
Like so high up that it blows my mind this isn't mentioned
every single time
people talk about these seats. If I were as tall as any of my 6'5" friends - I simply wouldnt fit in the car with these damn seats.
I ordered the Brea Krause side rails to drop it about 1.5", and really hoping that fixes the issues. If not, I'll be selling mine. What kind of bucket brings you HIGHER in the car? Just ridiculous...
yeah you need the lowering bracket. Im 510 and wouldnt drive any other way but Im used to sitting pretty low from the race car. The former owner of my seats was 64 and he was fine.
once you install the lowered brackets you will be in love. I left my passenger seat tall. Looks cooler also when you see the seats from the outside imo
He was 6'4" with the lower BK mounts? Hoping my come in next week so I can get back to a decent seating position. Going to be shouting this from the rooftops for a while since it really isn't mentioned enough.
If one wants the GT3 seats, one needs to be short, or buy the BK lowering mounts.
I'm 6'4". With the BK mounts and sliders, my head would brush the roof liner when going over speed bumps. Driver side bucket is now floor mounted (BK R-9080 with R-9042). Love everything about the seats, position, and sight lines now.
So wait....have your seats shipped yet? I'm in the same situation as OP is with some Clubsport Full Carbon doors......the communication post sale considering the cost of the doors could be better regardless of Covid or not.
The seats were picked up today via DHL and are on the way.
Despite being told since day 2 that the seats were packed and ready to go, the seats took about 27 days to ship once my bank wire cleared.
I felt like he was a great salesman. Communication quick and constant before money was sent. Once money was sent it was ok. After money cleared it was not acceptable IMO. I think my post made this clear. Why the communication changed I dont know. Most businesses these days look to covid as reasons why.
I would order from them again but I would Definately ask more questions before sending the money next time.
Good luck with your doors.
LOL I know I know... now I get to do the un-funny thing and explain a joke.
In the Seinfeld episode people were referencing to riff on the seat situation - George is bragging about how he bought "Jon Voight's car" until Jerry finds a registration in the glovebox belonging to a
John
Voight.
So I was asking - who is Walter
Rhorl
?
.....I'm funny.
Sorry, mixed up my part numbers. I'll edit my prior post...
I'm using BK R-9080 with R-9042 on the driver bucket. Have it in my notes that R-9044 floor mount works with R-9079, but doesn't give enough rearward adjustment for tall drivers. With my 9080/9042 setup I've got it all the way back (I'll verify that when I get home), but at the middle (of three) recline setting.
Interesting thread. I had a nearly identical experience with Scuderia V as both
@thuggo
and
@168glhs1986
. I'll post details this weekend. . . .too bad I didn't read this thread before my purchase.
There is a set of those grey seats on Facebook for 5000 euro in France if anyone is looking.
Ive been thinking about selling my perlon and cinnamon seats since theyve just been collecting dust in my office.
I am 63 and fit just fine. The seats are way lower than the stock seats. I have plenty of leg room too, and have to move the seat a few clicks forward for a good driving position. I dont remember the mounts, but I think they are BK. The seats are WAY better than the standard stock seats.
I think the recent posters have missed the point of this thread: it’s a thread about purchase experience with vendor, Scuderia V, not a thread about GT3 seats, although the title is rather confusing.
Based on how this thread progressed, from vender questions and feedback to random caddyshack posts, with no conclusion from the OP on actually ever receiving the seats, its fair to at least answer the recent questions/concerns from people regarding fitment.
I thought that this thread needed to be created for our Rennlist community, as Scuderia V has been a Rennlist vendor and sponsor for more than five years, occasionally offering up items for sale on the forum, but there is not much written about any purchasing experiences with this vendor, although I did find one other thread by another Rennlister who had a very similar experience to mine.
For those who are minimally interested in the details, here is the summary:
Any purchased items from Scuderia V will eventually arrive, but expect two months for delivery in the US, and possible headaches with customs clearance and shipping to your door in the US. The items that I was told that I was purchasing were described as new, OEM, and with factory finish. The items that I received were OEM, but there were clear indications that the items were used with wear marks, evidence of repair, and the finish was not factory, but clearly aftermarket with blemishes. So, to a degree, you will get the item(s) that you order, but it might not be in the exact condition that it's stated.
Here are the details:
I bought physically large items for my 991 from Scuderia V, a Rennlist sponsor, who has been on this forum since 2017. Since he had been on the forum for so long, without any significant complaints, I felt rather confident purchasing from him, especially since the parts were "in stock" at his warehouse at the time. I was told that I was purchasing new parts, finished at the factory. In fact, during one of our discussions, he said that he personally picked them up at the Porsche factory.
During the inquiry stage, before the purchase, communication was prompt and frequent. We communicated for about a week or so before the purchase, and photos were exchanged, and items described. Scuderia V only accepts wire transfers, as is the case for many European vendors of all goods.
Literally 1-2 days after sending the wire transfer for the items and shipping, I received communication, and a photo of the packaged items in a rather large cardboard carton, so I was naturally excited to receive the item in short order. The funds were wired out two weeks before the Christmas holidays, and I thought two weeks should be plenty of time to get the items shipped before the holiday rush.
I inquired about the shipment a few times from then until Christmas, and I would get a reply about "working on shipping" about a week after each inquiry.
Then January arrived, and the items still weren't shipped. I inquired again, and supposedly his contact with the shipping company was out until January 3. . . and mid-January arrived, and the package still wasn't shipped. Six weeks after payment the items still weren't shipped, and the excuse was that he was still working on the best shipping rate. In summary, I wasn't getting very regular communication from Scuderia V: perhaps once a week he would reply with an excuse about his shipping agent, and then something else about looking into shipping, etc., and this went on for six weeks into the latter part of January.
Naturally, I became concerned about the possibility of fraud after about four weeks, so I began to contact other Rennlist members who had purchased from Scuderia V. I contacted about half a dozen former clients of Scuderia V, who (I think) were all based in the US, and they all vouched for him, and said that he would send the items that I purchased, although everyone mentioned that, for some unknown reason, the shipments from Scuderia V always take about 2 months. This feedback settled my concerns for a while.
But after another week or two of not hearing anything from Scuderia V, I informed him that I was becoming upset about the matter. Subsequently, we set up a time to talk via iMessages, and I found him to be a very friendly individual. It seems that he sells parts to us on Rennlist as a part-time business, so he does not devote the amount of time to his parts business that a full-time business owner might, consequently, items aren't shipped as promptly as we Americans are accustomed to.
About one week after talking, I got a tracking number and a photo of my item being loaded on a freight truck, as well as a delivery date. However, I could never get the tracking number that I was given to work, and after the delivery date passed without any delivery, I sent an inquiry, and was told that it would arrive in another week. Eventually, about two weeks later, I was contacted by a freight shipping company that a package was at an airport in US customs, and I had to get customs clearance within two days, or I would owe storage fees.
Not knowing exactly what to do, I contacted the freight company, and asked them how to proceed. They told me that I needed to hire a customs broker to clear customs. Additionally, this freight company told me that they would not deliver to my business address because it was in a residential area, and that I had to hire a different freight shipping company to get my package. (So much for the extensive "shipping" investigation on the seller's part with respect to delivery to the buyer.)
The customs broker charged me another moderate fee to clear customs, and the freight company charged me another fee for delivery, which was on top of what I had already paid Scuderia V for shipping. So, it seems, I paid for shipping three times, eventhough supposedly the reason for the seven week delay in shipping was to get the best shipping possible.
Once the items finally arrived, 10 weeks after I wired the funds for the items, they were packaged in a makeshift cardboard carton, comprised of about fifty different small pieces of cardboard taped together to form something that resembles a box. The items inside were well wrapped with bubble wrap, but had about another fifty pieces of randomly scattered re-purposed form-fitted foam (for a form markedly different from the parts in the carton) inside the carton. However, the packaging sufficed, as the items were not damaged, so I must commend Scuderia V on his creative, but effective packaging.
After unwrapping the items, I was pleased to see that they were OEM parts. However, there was clear evidence that the items were not new, but used, as they had clear wear marks on them, where you would expect wear. There was also evidence of a non-factory finish in several areas, as well as a repair.
I informed Scuderia V that the items were not new, as described, and sent him photos documenting the evidence of the wear and aftermarket finish. We spoke afterwards, and he declared that there was no way that the items couldn't be factory finish, as he had personally picked them up from the Porsche factory, and then he went on to describe how some OEM Porsche items were not painted at the factory, nor made at the factory, but made by various vendors who also paint them in house.
I requested a partial refund on the items, since they were not as described, but he has been ignoring me since my request. Scuderia V also has not reimbursed me for the additional shipping costs that I incurred to get delivery.
Overall, the items that I received were OEM, but used, so it's not a complete loss, but I didn't receive exactly what I was told I was purchasing; so it seems that Scuderia V misrepresented his inventory. I would sum up my experience that purchasing from Scuderia V is like dealing with a communist bureaucracy: quick to take your money, slow to deliver, and quite painful.
I would conclude that Scuderia V is a seemingly friendly individual, and his OEM parts eventually get delivered, but he works very slowly, has poor customer service, and the parts are not always exactly as described.
Just for comparison,, I bought a Titanium exhaust for my motorcycle from the Slovenia via paypal, I had the system in < 4 days from making payment it came via DHL.
It was a 2'x1'x4foot box. Ordered on Sunday had it on my Porch by Thursday night..
