Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

With both of my sons (32 & 28 now), before I signed-off on their driver's license form, I made them change a "flat".
Leading evidence: 'Replace "flat"' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Millennials don't know how to change a tire, so they never really thought of that possibility when they designed the newer cars.

Heck, I can't change a tire in my 997 because it has no spare tire.

Half the kids these days don't even know how to use a hammer.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It's funny that I've had my C4S for so many years now and I just noticed this evening that there is no footwell lighting!!! At first, I thought I blew a few or something. So I actually crawled underneath both sides of the dashboard and voila! No lightbulbs to show! So I'm like... wow! A car that stickered at $115k (or something like that) did NOT have footwell lighting.
So do any of you guys have it? Was it some weird option? Can I add it in easily?@?
Before getting into the car, I usually have a good look at my feet first. Then I get in a drive like hell and watch the road. Why would anyone want foot well lighting????????????
I keep one of these

in my console just in case I drop something small down there...or if I really want to see my shoes on the pedals at night...
Because it's all the rage these days, along with TPMS, Blind Spot monitoring, mood lighting, etc. I swear the criterias for getting a car these days are totally backwards. Hell, Chevy has commercials touting in-car wifi hotspot to appeal to the millenials as a major selling point. And you wonder why it's so dangerous to have broken down car on the side of the road or fix a flat tire yourself these days.
I for one am planning the footwell retrofit so I can see my $1200 Air Jordan's in all it's glory whenever I'm driving.

True, in order to do anything like that, you have to know how to work with tools to begin with. Half the kids these days don't even know how to use a hammer.
I have one son who is pretty good with tools and always helped me fix things when he was a little kid. He could change a tire with no problem. I have another son who struggles to change a light bulb. I told him that he needs to make sure he has a good job so that he can afford to hire people to fix things for him.
With both of my sons (32 & 28 now), before I signed-off on their driver's license form, I made them change a "flat". All the way off and all the way on. And I made sure the lugnuts were tight before they started.
Also took them out on an icy parking lot in winter.
#2 son helped me rebuild a Corvette rear suspension when he was 9. He covets my tools. I've got a few more years before I'm in the ground, so he has just a bit longer to wait...
I was about to ask the same thing when I first read this thread but then hit the "back" button as I didn't want to rain on the guy's parade.
My other point to this is, it's supposed to be a performance vehicle not a luxury car!
Honestly I wouldn't mind having them. In a car with a black interior and black carpet it's easy to lose a pair of sunglasses!
It's like being in a cave.
Wut?
At first I figured the WD-40 fumes were getting to you, but then I realized you might be telling the truth...the barefoot walk home sucked the last time you put the car into the wall backwards, so I can see wanting to avoid a repeat...
Well, one might inadvertently drop his heavy gold or finest watch...
My 2005 TTS has the elusive and scarce footwell lighting option. I have no idea why its there (2nd owner) or why it is so expensive. I am sure that this rarity of an option will be right up there with Rudge wheels on a 356.
Isn't footwell lighting usually tied to other interior lighting? It's never on when driving I think, unless you left a door open (at least on the other implementations I've seen). Just lets you see into the footwell when it's dark out. Like a glovebox or a way to open the trunk from outside the car, it's not something you /need/ to have, just something that makes life easier.
Still seems a bit strange to miss all of the random convenience features from my $30k E46 3er on the $80k 911. Judged solely on the practical merits of being a car, the 996 is objectively worse (it's not even that close!), but the driving experience more than makes up for it.
