Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'common issue' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'common issue' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Set including the binder in there' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Of course, there was a manual set including the binder in there.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a 2001 Porsche 996 Twin Turbo 6 spd car with 28,000 miles in nearly perfect condition. Yesterday when I went to start it, I turned the ignition key the car started but immediately began making a beeping, chirping sound and the normally green turn signal indicator lights in the dash started flashing red in time with the chirping sound(s)? This went on for about 15 seconds then stopped. It now does it every ti9me I start the car and occasionally while I'm driving?!? I checked oil level, all the exterior lights and markers, signals, brake lights, hazards and all are in working order. When I use the turn signals, they flash green in the dash as they should, but when I start the car they flash red and again with the beep beep beep? Please advise, It is making me craz(ier?)!

The car is trying to tell you something is wrong, but I have no clue as to what. Do you have an owner's manual and can look that up? Most of what I see relates to a burned out bulb or flasher unit, but you say all that has been checked. It could be a flaky ignition switch (the electrical switch part) that has been known to create some weird gremlins. I would start with the owner manual and see if it says anything.

Hey dbjoe996,
I went to reference my owners manual and found it to be somehow AWOL, so I ordered a new one from my local Porsche dealer and am waiting for it to arrive. In the mean time, I am forced to drive my '86 930.........life is hard! lol

Did you look in the glove box?
And, no, this is probably not something unique to the 996tt. Likely a common issue for all 996s. If it were engine related, then yeah, the turbo forum is the place to go.
As for having to drive the 930, hmmm, how much in depreciation do you think it costs you for every mile you drive the 930? Better get that 996tt fixed quick!
BTW, welcome & don't be a stranger.
When I bought my '01 C2 last fall, I thought I didn't have a manual, either. Nothing under the dash. No glove box. Not in trunk nor in tool pouch. Nothing in left door pocket. After about a month of just futzing around, found out that the right door had a lid in the armrest as well. Of course, there was a manual set including the binder in there.
