Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

What I really liked about the BAT seller process is that it is not merely a walk in the park for sellers - They want good cars with service history - And in my situation where I've only had ownership for 6 months, they were thorough in asking me specific questions about miles driven, service records, providing auto-check report(carfax)/etc.
Leading evidence: 'Check report(carfax)/etc' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check report(carfax)/etc' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. (I think it's a positive point but can't replace the bearing since it's the larger one although that conversely makes me more confident in it).
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

This is great, another data point, this time a regular Mk2 C2 with 70k miles.
So - opinions wanted - My car is extremely similar to this, just an '02 but same color, wheels, similar options.
Biggest difference is my engine was swapped for a new factory one at a dealer at 58,000 miles in 2008, car now has 82k miles on it. Do people consider that a good thing or a bad thing relative to the example above or at this point with me putting 24k miles on the new engine so far it's a wash? (I think it's a positive point but can't replace the bearing since it's the larger one although that conversely makes me more confident in it).
I'd replace that K&N with a stock airbox before selling it. Otherwise, it seems to be a well sorted car. Gonna throw in my $24k figure based on the condition, miles, and previous uptick's on BAT 996 sales.
Auctions are a toss up on anything other than the most collectible and rare cars. It's all about timing and luck of the draw on what kind of audience are participating at which times.
I think the type of people that come to BAT are the ones that want some sort of exclusive and rare type of features on an otherwise a mass produced car. Of course you're going to have those people here and there that want to just buy a good example "regular" car on BAT too. But those aren't the ones are on it all the time, so it really boils down to timing on those types of cars.
To be honest, this car doesn't really have anything extraordinary that you can't get from several other cars that are currently on Autotrader, Cars, Ebay, etc.
If it goes for less than 20k it is a very good buy, I say mid 20's including the 5% premium. I was a serious bidder for the black targa that was on a few weeks ago. My top price for that car was in line with when the reserve dropped, it went a few k beyond the reserve.
Ended up buying an 04 that is very close to this car build wise. I have less miles, litronics and a few other small options not seen on this car. However mine does not have IMS bearing update (yet) and it seems that cars with IMS done are pulling nearly the cost of the IMS update in premium.
I have been sitting on the 996 fence for years. Asking prices over the last year have been on the upward creep, that is what made me hop off that fence.
Overall it's significantly better than trade-in value almost anywhere and a LOT better than potentially dealing with a bunch of local schmo's who just want to waste a lot of time, go for a ride and feel the vtec kick in, yo. And then try to lowball him. As long as he really represented it honestly, the process should complete itself with minimal hassle and the seller can move on...
Since I have no time right now I decided to put my C4S on BAT auction site - Will be up in about 10 days - Over the past 15 yrs when I've put my car on RL it has been a quick pleasant transaction. I've always had a buyer within a couple of days who was knowledgable/serious with cash.
This go round all 5 people who showed interest either had no money/had to sell something before moving forward or were not ready to buy - I just didn't have the time or patience
As someone who purchased an 03' Targa off of BAT in March....I can attest to the ease of process from a buyers perspective. I purchased from a great guy....the car was exactly what I was looking for....and had been enthusiast owned (and cared for). I paid strong $.....and...felt then (and more so today) that it was a good buy offering incredible value.
Good luck with sale. I suspect you'll have a great experience and the car will go to an enthusiast who will appreciate your C4S.
Cheers!
Kevin
All correspondence is done via email which I was hesitant about at first, but they are quick to respond. There's a flat $250 sellers fee. You provide them with photos and a description and they rework the ad and email it back for approval.

And I think what was most impressive is that they will not put 2 of the same vehicles on auction at the same time - The fellow at BAT explained there was another slate grey C4S in line ahead of mine(current C4S on auction) and that mine would go on auction afterward.
I'll keep everyone posted and sort of exciting to see what happens.
I sold my pristine '01 Miata on BAT. Listed it at no reserve (they get their $250 that way no matter what). It sold for a fair price, to a nice fellow from Boston. No reserve is a little nerve racking, but that site brings out the best bidders, and the best commenters.
It was one of those rare, win/win sales where both parties felt they did well. Highly recommend the site, they were very easy to deal with.
Well this one just sold for $27k

Though this one didn't have $5k in recent maintenance for clutch/flywheel/ims/rms so it'll be interesting to see what Groov's goes for
