Suggestion · Original poster

Being it's a 1999 and I presume original cables, and they're going to be pretty long, I'm thinking of getting some cables built up and replace battery-starter-alternator cables.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I never noticed this before, but I stalled the car yesterday and darn near wouldn't restart. Just a slow crank almost like the battery was dead. Waited a couple secs, still did a slightly faster crank (still slow) but was enough to catch. In my experience that's likely due to a crappy connection or even a cable having V-drop. Being it's a 1999 and I presume original cables, and they're going to be pretty long, I'm thinking of getting some cables built up and replace battery-starter-alternator cables. Has anyone done them before? Is this a common issue? I did a search for hot-start and didn't really find anything readily visible. Are the cables a pain in the butt to replace in these things?

POST 2Original post

Just had mine done failed at 70k (kms). The upgraded cable has some protection at the end where it attaches to the starter
