Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Shameless cross post from the classifieds.... selling a LN Engineering Single Row Pro IMS Retrofit kit, the necessary Faultless tool and spin-on adapter for well less than MSRP. Bearings are still in their sealed boxes, and the filter adapter is still brand new in box. https://rennlist.com/forums/parts-ma...l#post13459134

POST 2Original post

So why are you selling and what's going on with your car?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Opting to go with the IMS Solution - a lot more expensive, but I've spent a ton on engine work in the last few months and what's another few grand?? Right now, I have the rebuilt heads back from Hoffman and will be reassembling the engine next week if all goes well. Should have a clean bill of health, and as a bonus it'll now have the Hoffman Stage 1 job, 997S headers and IPD Competition Plenum with GT3 throttle body

POST 4Original post

Sounds great....what was the problem again? Was it a cracked head or something else? Can't remember except that you trailered it home.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Burnt exhaust valve on the #2 - looking like it was caused by a failed lifter. I'll be posting a full summary of everything that's getting done to it at some point... I'm addicted to "while you're in there", a side effect of my prior 951 ownership.

"while you're in there" is a very expensive phrase for m96/97 engine rebuild

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

You're telling me!! The only reason I've gotten this far without my wife killing me is that I tell her prices individually so that she doesn't do the math and add everything up! I have a number this far and frankly I'm a bit scared to share it publicly. That being said I COULD have fixed my problem on the cheap - but I do love this car.

POST 8Original post

I use a spreadsheet to keep track of all the expenditure of my engine rebuild. It has all the part numbers and cost, down to a single bolt. I weep a little every time I look at it haha
