Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
Not only the brake fluid, it's a good idea to change all the liquids in your car.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

When it does this I lift my foot and apply it again and the pedal is back to normal, it seems like it looses its prime after driving for 5 minutes so I give it a quick pump and it's back to normal for the next 30 seconds aprox.
Not loosing any fluid at all.
It started happening during this heat wave 2 weeks ago, haven't decided if that has got anything to do with it.
Brake pedal goes down an extra inch or two

I'm guessing it's the master cylinder (or could be moisture in brake lines?) but if anyone has any insight before I start digging id appreciate it.
Do something about this. You have air in the system; if air is in there, other contaminants may have found their way in as well. Definitely time for a fluid change and bleed.
I plan to bleed it Forsure. Just thought I'd ask around first because I haven't touch the system. It just started doing this randomly on its own, so I was curious how air could get in. But I'll bleed and get see what happens from there

It shouldn't have anything to do with the heat, but the fluid is the easiest and cheapest thing to address - and if you haven't done it recently, you'll be able to cross it off the list.
If you get that done and you've still got soft brakes, take a look at the brake booster (search here - lots of threads).
Has the car recently been outside during heavy rain, or have you washed it especially thoroughly recently? Check this thread out:

This may be useful for bleeding:
I appreciate the advice ! And I do was the car quite often yes. Haven't had a heavy rain fall in my area in a month. I've just never seen brakes go funny for no apparent reason. They have never been touched on my watch. But I will definitly be doing a thorough bleeding job.
