Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just bought a 2000 C2 4 days ago, love it, keep looking for excuses to drive it!!! I did notice that there is some free play in the throttle, no response for the first 1/2" of depressing the gas pedal. Don't have that on my 99 Boxster. Haven't looked yet, is there an easy adjustment? I noticed because i was having trouble rev matching while downshifting.

POST 2Original post

On your 2000 do you have a throttle cable or is it e-gas? You can tell by looking in the engine compartment and checking the throttle body. If there is a cable connection on the right side of the TB, make sure it doesn't have any slack in it. If there is slack then your cable has stretched and needs to be replaced. There is no adjustment to my knowledge. If there is no cable, then you have e-gas and probably need to do a calibration. Turn car on but don't start the engine. Keep your foot off the acel pedal. Wait for 60 seconds and turn car off. You should hear some whirring clicking sounds from the engine. See this diagram for cable layout http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=702-10

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Wow, thanks so much. I saw no cables, so I assumed e-gas, did what you said, heard some clicks and it's fixed. Awesome!
