Hi. This is my first post on this forum. Ive recently bought my first Porsche, a 996 1998 cab. It has various issues to be sorted, nothing serious, except a misfire. Its on the left bank, it is a complete misfire at all revs, with the smell of fuel at the exhaust. I have bought spare coil and injector, admittedly used, from Porsche breakers. Ive swapped these around, changed plugs, checked for spark at each point, done a compression test which was 8 1/2 bar at each of the three cylinders. It still misfires. I live in rural France, and locally have only basic garage services, so am limited in help. I have had a diagnostics guy come out, but his bosch equipment wouldn't connect. Neither would the durametric cable my friend has , who had a VW garage in the UK. So, basically, I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction, or at least a route to check out next. I have in my mind that it may be a lifter, although the compression test was ok, and there is no undue mechanical noise form the engine. Hope someone can help. Paul
