Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

are you referring to the turn signal inside the headlight? if yes (and following what you mentioned already done) it is most likely the loom inside the headlight. they are notorious for disintegrating. In fact I have a set myself waiting on the shelf to be refurbished 😒

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

YES.... what is the LOOM ??? What do I need to do ??

POST 4Original post

Quotes source post: 18707133

you basically need to take the headlight apart and redo the wiring.

POST 5Original post

Loom is the bundle of wires from the plug on the back of the headlight assembly that go to all the bulbs. This is a known problem with the 996 and others,, Your mechanic if he is a Porsche specialist should be able to handle it. If not you're using the wrong mechanic.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank U !!!! AND a quick question.... Those wires R secure. stable, permanent. How, Why can this happen ??

POST 7Original post

Quotes source post: 18707785

Soy based wire insulation is the issue . It breaks down and cracks exposing the actual wires . Then the wires corrode and become brittle . That's it in a nutshell .
