Im not sure about the MkII, but the MkI XAA uses the same rear bumper as non-Aero cars.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So, my car has been hit from behind leaving my rear bumper cracked, since it has the aerokit front bumper, skirts and rear spoiler, I thought Id look for an aerokit rear bumper.
Thing is, the only ones I can find for sale secondhand are either damaged more than the one on my car or dont have the flicks and just look like an ordinary bumper with some holes in it. Where can I find one?
(Im new here so please do excuse me if I make some mistakes
)
Yup, not much difference except the "spats"... Most peolple like the MkII rear bumper (nicer shape & painted bumperettes) better than the MKI so you might want to swap it in...
Im not sure about the MkII, but the MkI XAA uses the same rear bumper as non-Aero cars. If I remember correctly, the optional spats are simply attached via tape and screws.
I would definitely go with 996.2 bumper. When I banged up my rear bumper I just opted for the .2 and love the look. Looks better on the aero. love how the lines flow together which is missing in .1 even with spats. One other thing I will mention is you do need longer exhaust tips from a .2.
I assume they are still available from Porsche but dont know for sure. Itd be cheapest if you can find a set for sale on here or eBay or a set from a totaled car.
Could you remove the parts from your damaged bumper and transfer them to the new one? A body shop ought to be able to do that. If they are not broken, that is.
Hi All, I just acquired a .2 rear bumper cover I want to put on my .1 that has the front Aerokit and side skirts.
looks like the holes on top of the bumpers lined up perfectly. The bottom ones 3 of 4 looked good and Im wondering if you successful swappers drilled two new holes (an inch away) in the .2? Maybe a zip tie connecting the misaligned holes would work? A friends body shop is going to take a crack at it.
Were there other modifications that you made? Tips aside?
You need the mk2 plastic side bracket with the heat shields and crash bar for under the bumper. Also depending on your exhaust u need new tips. The factory mk2 pipes r longer so u dont melt the bumper.
Just get the correct parts from a dismanteler because it will be a bolt on with no mods needed.
