Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

Suggestion
996.1 you can run a standalone controller for everything and wiring is much easier, just plumb your original 996 sensors into the new engine (if you swap the engine too) and the cluster and original DME think nothing has changed.
Leading evidence: 'Run standalone controller' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run standalone controller' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. Suggestion
There are pros and cons to using a 996.1 and same for a 996.2, due to canbus system.

I wouldn't use a G50, I would use an aftermarket G50 based transaxle.

A standalone PDK controller can be used, or, if you find the corresponding 911 engine, you could just use the engine + PDK controller from the donor car.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Have custon A2W interoolers being fabvricated up and either using the starndard intake feeds for the turbos or making up a rear quarter window duct similar to a GT4 setup.

- If thats the preferred use of your right "arm", and I am seriously questioning the size to volume ratio you are dealing with here that you need to use your whole arm to scratch that particular itch, hey man, what ever floats your boat....
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

People aren't that cool around here.
(see post below this one for example, sweet cruise control bro)
If PDK's weren't so expensive I would love to further bastardize my car (LS swap) by putting one in but I don't think it makes sense when comparing cost and serviceability to a G50 based sequential.
But you should do it.
Yea , i know what you mean , but i think the G50 gearboxes these days are more expansive than the PDK
i did try to make it but not on 996 , on 964! , not enough space though, the PDK is too fat!
im selling all my kit ready to install if anyone interested :-)
I wouldn't use a G50, I would use an aftermarket G50 based transaxle. This would get me a true sequential box with easier servicing.

Mind you, this idea only lives in my head so the realities of actually figuring out with certainty if my idea is possible are not yet required to be observed.
You can't get Edward Scissorhands with the floor pan and make the PDK work in your 964 ?
Avi, this has been considered and isn't as difficult as some cruise control boys try to make out - at least in a 996. A standalone PDK controller can be used, or, if you find the corresponding 911 engine, you could just use the engine + PDK controller from the donor car. I have a local buddy with a 991 GT3 engine + PDK waiting to get into a 911 project. He was thinking of putting it into a rolled 993 c2s, but now he's considering a 996 c4s, but either way, it's very possible and you should do it! There are pros and cons to using a 996.1 and same for a 996.2, due to canbus system. 996.1 you can run a standalone controller for everything and wiring is much easier, just plumb your original 996 sensors into the new engine (if you swap the engine too) and the cluster and original DME think nothing has changed. 996.2 you could utilize canbus to retain OE functions for hvac, cluster, etc. but is more work.
AWD would be even better, as I think a AWD PDK safari 911 would be perfect for slamming logging roads and ripping in the dunes!
Hi , im not sure your friend can make it into the 993,
i own a 964 ,i tried to make it into my car!, i have the whole kit, from the pdk ( gt3rs ) the adaptor to any Metzger engine housing, the GCU controller with the harness fit
all what you need to do the project, the problem with 964/993 is the gearbox edge tunnel underneath , the pdk is too fat to fit in, unless you are ready to cut a part of it. i can help anyone who is interested in doing it, reached a good experience after 1 year .
thats the adaptor CNC made between PDK to engine housing.
This is great info! I'll pass this along to my buddy, he runs a local P car shop and might be interested. I also might be interested personally if he isn't.
I'll send you a PM!
I have a 996.2 C4S and am currently working on fitting a 997.1 turbo engine into using an intergrated Emtron ECU with the tiptronc box. Main work so far is the CANBUS decoding work. Have custon A2W interoolers being fabvricated up and either using the starndard intake feeds for the turbos or making up a rear quarter window duct similar to a GT4 setup.
Once we have that running, we are going to try and get the PDk to work with it. @

be very interested in where the CNC adaptor you have came from, will be needing one of those.

is your 997 engine housing is with the 4 bolts? mine could fit you too, if you have a pic pls share so i can confirm it.
Hi, We are looking to do exactly what you have done but we have an already modified chassis. Did Adamat do all the conversion work for the adapters and flywheel etc. thanks
