I am so tired that such a simple fix using a piece of tape to place it didn't occur to me.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have read about the emergency engine compartment release wire, but luckily have never had to use it. Tonight, I had to remove the driver's side (U.S.) taillight and the photo below shows how I found the wire. The wire does have an unseen small loop on the end of it but that loop is stuffed back down into the hole where the wire initially came out (see the red arrows in the picture below). Is this the correct routing? I am not sure that is going to work in an emergency since you would have to pull the small loop out of that hole to fully access the wire, but I could be wrong. Please let me know the correct routing. Thanks!

I don't remember how mine was originally routed but I relocated it so I can easily it grab with a dental pick I keep in the tool kit.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for sharing that. I am so tired that such a simple fix using a piece of tape to place it didn't occur to me. Hopefully, neither one of us will ever need to use it

POST 4Original post

I sent mine under the light pocket and inbetween the bumper and heat shield. I just need to push back the shielding to access it.
