Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, I'm hoping that someone could help me. I just bought a 1999 996 and the rear speakers were not working. I removed both the speakers and found that neither were connected. Both the wires had been cut going to each speaker. Does anyone know where I can get the male end of the pigtail? I cant seem to find them on the internet. I found a video that shows what it looks like. Thank you!!!! This is what the back of the speaker looks like. This is the connector I am looking for.

POST 2Original post

Might start on eBay. Dismantlers a lot of times just cut behind the plugs of things rather than spend time fighting and possibly breaking connectors. Plus that speaker is trash since you can see through where the foam that connects the cone to the basket is deteriorated and missing.

POST 4Original post

Those 2-pin speaker plugs have been used on every VW since the 1980's so you might search that.

Congrats on the 996. You will enjoy it. If you end up replacing the speakers, let us know what speakers you decided to use.

The link you posted is for plugging aftermarket speakers into the OEM connectors so that you don't have to cut the Porsche connector off. The OP's problem is precisely that -- a PO cut the connector off.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
