Suggestion

I had the same thought process on mine, the silver is classic but I wanted something that popped more and I plan to keep the car forever, so I'll just change the color up whenever I get tired of it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Recently I had a local Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) guy come by and clean up the lines on my 2002 C2 Cabriolet, with a built, bored to 4.0L by LN Engineering, rescue project. It's almost finished as I just have to decide on a color and wrap up some minor interior problems. Enjoy! You Tube

POST 2Original post

You already have the best color.. But if you want something that stands out try finding a wrap in Zanzibar Red. A unique and rare 996 color.

POST 3Original post

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

While I agree Silver is a good color, it doesn't really stand out. This particular 996 won't ever be a concours queen so I want to brighten her up and make her special. Liquid wraps? I'm intrigued. Deep dive here I go!

Or better still, you could just find one painted that colour by Porsche originally ...

😂 While thats the best option, a roller isnt cost effective. I thought about just repainting it but it will be way too expensive for this car.

POST 7Original post

I had the same thought process on mine, the silver is classic but I wanted something that popped more and I plan to keep the car forever, so I'll just change the color up whenever I get tired of it. I linked some after pics of getting mine done below, there is some orange peel in a few places but overall it looks great and has held up well, since they can mix any color I got voodoo blue and had them do a cut/polish on the clearcoat for the high gloss finish. You're not going to have this problem, but the liquid wrap is thicker than a standard vinyl wrap, so on my car the two roof rail strips had to be actually painted instead of wrapped as the wrapped part didn't have the clearance to clip back in to the mounting points. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...l#post18248297
