Suspected cause
If you removed the child car seat buckle that your car came with, then that is most likely the source of your airbag code.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So looks like I made a bonehead mistake when replacing the seats and didn't disconnect the batter before I installed the passenger seat, now I have the dreaded Airbag light on . . sigh. Looks like it a trip to the shop in the next few days to get the coded out.
If you removed the child car seat buckle that your car came with, then that is most likely the source of your airbag code. You can eliminate it by wiring in a 2.2k resistor. Had to do this with my Recaro Pole Position installation. Problem solved.
So I didn't actually have this installed when I removed the seat. I have a PIWIS that I ordered that will hopefully be here in the next week or so, then I'll likely clear it out from there. But funny you mentione putting in the passenger seat belt connection backwards cause I should likely check that as well. Thanks.
Small update today as I decided to expand the red accents with a red and black shift boot. Just enough added color.
still waiting on carbon fiber parts from Carbonlation and the new tach gaige face.
New updates to come this weekend. Decided it was time for a stero upgrade. Keeping with the German branding going with:
Audiotec Fischer Helix i3 speakers for dash, soors and rear
Alpine iLX 507 head Unit
Audiotec Fischer Match Amp
Just got in the red tach gauge and just waiting for the new steer wheel to arrive so I can do those at the same time.
Quick update on the audio upgrades.
Overall sound clarity is AMAZING! Very crisp, great sound. the ONLY thing that is missing is the sub 60Hz freq just ISN'T there. I'm gonna have to install a sub, cause the door speaker right now at midbass aren't providing the "umph" needed to complete the system. So gonna be looking for one of the factory Bose boxes, and will likely upgrade with new speaker and a amp for the subs and install in the factory location. More to come.
Ended up going with a Kicker underseat sub-mounted in the rear cargo area. Inexpensive, doesn't take up a lot of space and sounds awesome. It was a little wider than tha space available, so had the shop craft a small platform for it mount to. Doesn't add a much weight and easily removeable if need be.
Finally got time to add a few small additions to the 996. When with an accent color tach gauge face, as well as T96 steering wheel (need to get a picture of that). Really like the wheel, and at 6'1" give a nice addition of leg room. Feel really comfortable to drive with as well.
