The shop that installed the FEAL 441's told me to buy shorter drop link, but it looks like longer ones are need since when I clocked it up it's almost touching.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I had Feal 441 coil-overs installed on my 02 996 and it lowered the car about 1.5 inches on their highest setting. Now the drop link is nowhere near my Eibach sway bar. I don't know what size or what is the correct drop link is to order. Should I just measure the distance?

POST 2Original post

Quotes source post: 18002538

Measure the distance. Have a custom length droplink made. Elephant racing might do it for you.

POST 3Original post

U wont need custom as there r plenty of adjustables in different sizes. Try calling Tarett https://tarett.com/collections/swayb...ar-996-997-991

POST 4Original post

Never even thought about this, but I am going to be in the same boat here soon. I have the same coilovers. In the past many of my coilover sets included the shorter links in the kit, but sounds like Feal doesn’t do this. Would love to know what everyone does for this solution. Might as well get these ordered up now before I install.

POST 5Original post

Quotes source post: 18005751

I'm running factory end links with my coilovers. It's not ideal but it hasn't caused me problems.

POST 6Original post

Same here. My alignment shop (one of the best) said they are within specs at the ride height we set with PSS10s on my 2004 996 If I was racing this car it would be lower and the slippery slope would begin

POST 7Original post

The op's issue is he has an adjustable track bar. With the factory link he may not beable to use all the positions. Looking at the pictures again it looks like he can just rotate the bar up and attach the links without it hitting the toe link bar?

POST 8Original post

Inch and half drop sounds like quite a bit - do you have the spacers installed? When I replaced my stock suspension (old and tired with 90k on it) with the Feals the rear dropped maybe 1/4 of an inch. Fronts dropped about 1 1/4.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I spoke to FEAL and they said it can be rotated. The shop that installed the coilovers said it wouldn't work and they just left the bar unattached. I am rotating it today to see if It can be attached.

POST 10Original post

Does the factory links cause any sway bar preload issues?? I was blown away to see that a full set of adjustable sway links would be $400-500.

POST 11Original post

The factory links should not cause a preload issue. The mount on the shock should be in a fixed position similar to how they were mounted on the strut. The adjustment for corner balance is above the mount so the height doesnt change.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The shop that installed the FEAL 441's told me to buy shorter drop link, but it looks like longer ones are need since when I clocked it up it's almost touching.

POST 13Original post

I used Powergrid links with my Feals and Eibach Seay bars. That shop is crazy to leave it disconnected. Just rotate it and connect it until you get the adjustables. https://www.ebay.com/itm/31379337744...cAAOSwtKZhuRjj

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you very much. I am going to connect it until I find the right length links.

POST 15Original post

Quotes source post: 18006568

Do you know that your sway bar bushing isn't bolted all the way down? Or am I seeing it wrong? Or is that because of a larger diameter sway bar? It looks like there is a gap under the head of the bolt.

POST 16Original post

Quotes source post: 18006679

Good catch. Im pretty sure my Eibach sways came with new bushings. Whoever installed bis coilovers is suspect. First for not connecting the sway bar at all and second for not tightening down or even installing the right bushings. Its such an easy job, too.

POST 17Original post

do we have any other REAR drop link solutions for FEAL coilovers? I'm in contact with Tarret but their links are not confirmed to fit. Car is setup with FEAL coils and H&R sway bars.

POST 18Original post

I used Tarrets on mine with FEAL. I don't know the model number - I bought them lightly used off of here before I even purchased the coilovers. I would think any of the usual suspect links for a lowered 996 would work.

POST 19Original post

If u measure tarret will match up a set for u. I needed a different length adjuster when i went with an rs upright. The sales guy went through the specs and found a set that would work.

POST 20Original post

I set up my Feal 441s to the Porsche "X74" ride height - the lowest listed setting in the Bentley manual and I believe the GT3 standard height. I used the factory links for the rear without issue but went with Tarett adjustables in the front. I had a devil of a time getting the fronts to not make an unbearable amount of noise but they're pretty quiet now. I would have preferred fixed-length links to avoid the various adjustable components, each of which introduces opportunities for rattles.
