Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Question...were silver brake calipers only available on the C4? Were they standard or an option? I was planning on repainting my silver calipers to red, and was told that the existing silver calipers are a special option only available on the C4 and that I should not paint them.

POST 2Original post

This is how they came..... C2 = Black C4 = Silver C4S = Red Personally I would leave them alone but several here have changed the caliper color.

POST 3Original post

Anyone know were I can get the correct color silver paint?. When Porsche did my brakes they must have left fuild around the nipple. (poor workmanship). Regards thirteeneast.

POST 4Original post

Not to sure where to get paint......but the bigger questions is......this is your FIRST post and NO PICS??? Tim??

POST 5Original post

Actually, I think the majority of us are a bit crazy..... but thats a good thing pics! NOW!

POST 9Original post

I'm in the camp that believes ALL the calipers should be red. Silver, black, and yellow are just not indicative of the Brembo caliper.

POST 10Original post

Quotes source post: 7563226

All 993, 996 and 986 models are equipped with Brembos regardless of the color. I do agree the "Big Reds" have to be red though. I'm not sure I understand your post???

POST 11Original post

Meaning that ALL calipers should be red regardless of model of car. Porsche paints them different colors b/c people are so fixated on being able to show they have the "upgrade" or "different" option. For example, why are PCCB calipers yellow? It's all marketing. Brembo's "color" is red. The calipers on our cars our Brembo and are indicative of the Brembo racing philosophy exhibiting the phenomenal stopping power on a Porsche. Anything other than red is sheer marketing to make a little extra cash from the customer that needs to distinguish itself apart.

POST 14Original post

One thing I've never understood is that the color scheme is different on the Cayenne line. They are still Brembo brakes, but for that series the base model has black calipers, the S has silver calipers (even though they are the same caliper as the turbo) and the turbo has red calipers. It doesn't make sense.

POST 15Original post

Here is. Regards thirteeneast, Glad to be a member of the Forum there looks like a good following.

POST 16Original post

Nice!!! Where are you? the plate does not look standard US issue. The caliper paint can be purchased from Rennline. They are sponsor here. But I'm sure other venders sell it too. Glad you are here.

POST 17Original post

Hello, I live in the UK London, Kent BUT NOT BY CHOICE :-(

POST 18Original post

nice car, congrats.... keep the calipers silver! IMHO silver or black is the way to go, all the performance without the flash

POST 19Original post

I had the "Titanium" calipers on my C4 but they were so drab I had to paint them.
