Considering how much of the engine internals are non-ferrous, dump the oil filter housing oil into a clean drain pan and check that out.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

18 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

5000 Miles already. Wow... I cant believe it.. I feel like I have hardly driven in..... I have to do the oil this weekend. Courious to see the magnetic drain plug

POST 2Original post

Considering how much of the engine internals are non-ferrous, dump the oil filter housing oil into a clean drain pan and check that out. Sincerely, Macster.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah,, sadly I know this and that drain plug is only going to catch things that really shouldnt be coming apart....... Thanks for the tip, Ill let you know how it goes

POST 4Original post

I know what you mean about mileage......bought mine with 52K 2 years ago, now I'm at 78K.

POST 5Original post

thats the problem with todays 911.... its so driveable!

POST 6Original post

i had the ln engineering magnetic plug put in during last fall's oil change. when i changed the oil this spring i found nothing on the plug. i also cut open the filter and found nothing. your post reminded me that i never took a picture or posted it. i did use techron for the last tank of gas before the oil change and found that the oil came out much darker than usual. maybe the techron worked?

POST 7Original post

Quotes source post: 7565675

Picked mine up with 66K miles May of 2007 and just turned 91K miles. Most of those miles came from the first two years of ownership.

POST 8Original post

Yeah, my Honda, which will be 2 years old on June 1st, just turned 10K miles. 10,000 miles of "joyless" driving!

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I think I only put in on the road on late Feb this year. I am going to check the miles as compared to Mile markers on the road. Here is why i have wondered if the mileage was not right, as in High for what it actually is. The pads on the pedals are not warn at all The seats look like 60K miles seats not 110,000 mile seats The Paint chips are more 60-70K The car is in remarkable shape... Ya know how the door latch hooks get oxidized and yucky looking? Mine are like brand new. The car is really tight no rattles. It just doesnt seem like a 110,000 mile car and i sure dont feel like I drove it 5K miles

POST 11Original post

Holy cow! 5000 miles - that's more than I do in a year and more than Phil does in his nightmares!

POST 12Original post

Damn, Kyle--I've only put 10k miles on my car since I got it 3.5 years ago.

POST 13Original post

....and how did we not discover sooner that you were related to Phil?!?!

Hopefully that means you no longer miss your 928 and have become more attatchedto your 996.

POST 16Original post

I miss my 996 but love the 86' Wish I could have too - the wierd thing is I normally dont remember dreams but last night I dreamed I was driving a 928 ??? I dont even want to know what that means

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

put mobile 1 in this time. Nothing to speak of on the drain plug. Just some very VERY fine hair looking stuff.. and not even enough to really bother mentioning. Nothing in filter

POST 18Original post

Kyle, You got the seat thing figured out now?
