Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

guys, i need to get new rotors for my 01 C4. any suggestions for places on the web to get them? i'm looking for the best deal i can get for OEM replacement rotors.
thanks.
If you buy the rotors with the Porsche label on the box you pay a premium. I believe that Zimmerman is the OEM manufacturer and if you can find the rotors from them without the label you will get the same rotor at a savings.
You know... Zimmerman has either been living off this urban myth for near on 15 years or we as a group don't keep up with who makes OEM parts for 996Porsche's I guess.
Zimmerman hasn't been an OEM supplier for years now, like 911/930 years. ATE made the 993 and 964 rotors. Some rotors since 1996 have been made by a company called SHW. Not saying their aftermarket parts are not up to spec or worth it - just that at what point (unless they get a new contract) do we let go of mentioning them in the same breath as OEM for current cars? Now if we need to mention suppliers as OEM - then I beleive we should be mentioning 'Brembo', 'Mintex' or 'Pagid'.
Now Zim's ARE an OEM for some lines across the PAG but never for the 996 models and after. Sorry - just being pedantic.
air cooled guys are talking about this right now
"people often confuse OE and OEM
OE is original equipment that came on your car and is what the dealer would sell
OEM is the same manufacturer of the part that was OE but may not be to the same exacting standards so can not put the OE logo on it such as " Porsche".
and
"A good example I know of relating to OE vs OEM is Zimmerman vs. Porsche brake discs. The Zims used to be uncoated (hates and internals), while the Porsche ones were coated. The OE (Porsche) ones didn;'t rust and seem to squeak a lot less. The last time I bought all 4 for my 968 from Pelican, they had new Zimmermans that did have a coating. 2 of mine did and two didn't. I painted the two that didn't, but I think next time I will just order Porsche ones from Sunset. I painted the rusty Zims on my 993 (put on by PO) and they squeak a lot. "
I used autopartswarehouse.com. You have to watch them... If you dont know what you are buying you could very well end up with the wrong thing. But they were the cheapest
