I installed ground control adjustable coil overs, chipped it with a jim conforti chip (OBDI) and also did the conforti intake.

I had the exact same weird feeling when I threw away a rarely used paper weight a few years back!

I am certain that your pending Turbo will help fill the void much better than my Honda did for me.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Someone is coming over in a couple hours to pick up my car. I've never been attached to a car before when selling it, this is the first time. It's hard, but knowing a Turbo will be coming in the Spring makes it slightly easier. Just slightly though.
This was my first Porsche, something I'd wanted since I was in college. I wonder if other people have a soft spot for their first Pcar.
I never really bonded to my car, but when it left for Michigan, it felt weird, really weird. When the time is right, I will very likely buy another Porsche.
Miss mine quite a bit but it's only been a few weeks now. I get really attached to them though. the 996 was the first car I've sold in nearly 8 years.
I'll likely never sell my A4.
I am really missing my recently sold 968... but can't wait to find that 996 I'm looking for!
That is the great thing about Porsches: there is always another one down the road. This will be my 4th, each one better than the previous.
My first Porsche was a 86 944, It was a great car had it 6 months but never bonded, my 2nd Porsche, an 86 Carrera and I bonded big time, Bonded so much it's still in my garage almost 15 years later.
I think the Turbo will ease the pain
Sold mine this summer. Only the 2nd of about 6-7 P-cars that I became really attached to. Had a good last drive though, killing a lot of bugs between Denver and Amarillo where the happy new owner met me and drove home to DFW.
Coming home to the replacement did help alleviate any pain
. I'm sure the new Turbo will do the same for you.
Joe
That is quite sad! But the new BOOST coming will make you quickly forget this one. I still miss my first one -- 1973 914-4. It was a fun car to learn about Porsches with!
I almost sold my C4S about 6 mos ago. The guy came over took for a drive with his wife, (left his brand new BMW in the street). I saw him coming down the street after the drive. My car looked so good coming down the street, with the top down, with those Fabspeed's rumbling. Couldn't pull the string, no matter what he offered me (a very reasonable price: 46K). Canceled the ad, kept the car, despite his constant calling me back, and I am not looking back! This is my 4th Porsche (356, 914 and a Boxster S) and by far the Carrera 4S is DA KIND. Now I need to talk the wife into a New Turbo Cab with PDK.
It's gone. The guy came over last night with three guys in their 20's who were all ogling his new car. He was giddy which was kind of fun to watch. My daughter and I watched him pull away and a couple minutes later heard him light it up on the main road, about a quarter mile away. I'd never heard the car before from outside, it sure did sound nice! My neighbor always use to say he could hear me coming from three blocks away, now I know what he meant.
Deckman,
Yes, I still miss my first (and only) Porsche. It has been 17 months and 18 days since we parted ways, but who's counting. I am certain that your pending Turbo will help fill the void much better than my Honda did for me.
Congtats on the sale and the upcomming Turbo. What year and model Turbo are you looking to get?
My DD now is a Honda Accord like you, except mine is a true daily beater kind of car. Not pretty to look at for sure.
I am going to stay with the 996 Turbo. I think they are the best sports car bargains on earth. The 997TT is a little rich for my blood anyway. I hope to get one in the Spring. Maybe you will have another Porsche by then also!
Personally, I've been in the position several times to trade away my 4S... but im too attached to it - unreasonably so.
Big props for being able to let go such a beauty. I'm sure the next one will be amazing.
Gorgeous! At least you're in the fortunate position of looking for another one and not saying goodbye to the marque.
My only experience with regretfully selling a car was my first M3. It was a beautiful '95 e36 coupe. I installed ground control adjustable coil overs, chipped it with a jim conforti chip (OBDI) and also did the conforti intake. It was a rocket! I almost stopped the guy as he pulled out of my driveway and gave him his money back.
(wouldn't normally put pic of my boy on the internet, but my iMac threw a hard drive in the middle of a back-up and we lost 13 years of pictures and videos and this is the only one of the old bimmer left...this is my second Mac hard drive in 3 months other one was on a laptop, but I digress)
Hell, I still miss my 1st car, a 1970 Raw tomato green Chevy Nova.
2 speed powerglide and a 250 inline 6.
I can't tell you how much I would pay to find that car in the same condition as when I sold it.
I was thinking the same. I would pay a lot of money for my 1984 VW GTI in the condition it was just before I totalled it in 1986. A PCA buddy has a black one and I drool every time I see it... what is it about some cars?
AWESOME!!!!
That pic is making me what to cry, and it's not even MY car!
BTW - Got any pics of the Turbo???.... oh, wait.... I guess I'm jumping the gun a little! Never mind!
