I gently applied some touch-up paint to the nicks and scratchs using a cotton-tipped swab and a pencil-shaped paint brush.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The center console in the 996 that I purchased a week ago has a few paint chips (nicks). I am wondering if it is possible to buy interior paint that matches the original color and apply it in a way that doesn't look worse than the nicks. The interior color is beige, including the center console (that has faded a bit to a beige-yellow).
If this isn't a reasonable option, where might I get a used or new aftermarket center console?
Thanks!
(great forum by the way).
Google Direct JPLV parts and you should be able to pick up a center console for about $130.00 if the touch up paint don't work out. You just have to transfer the clips, etc from old to new.
So, here is what happened.
I checked out the websites that everyone recommended and considered replacing the center console.
After some contemplation, I decided to try matching the paint since the scratches were few in number. A local auto paint shop mixed a spray can and about 4 oz of touch-up for $13. Hard to beat that price if it actually matches the original color. The guys at the paint shop took 4 days to get it "just right."
I gently applied some touch-up paint to the nicks and scratchs using a cotton-tipped swab and a pencil-shaped paint brush. The paint seems to have matched very well. Time will tell if it fades differently than the original paint or doesn't adhere well to the painted surface.
I was reluctant to try matching the paint for fear that it would look worse than the scratches, but this seems to have worked (thus far).
Anyway, just an update fyi for those who may try something similar.
If you haven't tried it, Testors Flat Black model paint really matches the "fuzzy" console surface pretty well for chips. Dries flat and off-black in color.
