Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm an Aussie relocating to Charlottesville in the US and I'm after a manual 2000/01 996 C2 coupe. There doesn't appear to be too many of these cars around here (lot's of big truck type things though). I'm looking in Auto Trader and Cars.com, can anybody suggest other alternatives. I'd consider a retail car auction in Virginia as I've owned a few 911's, ( I'm aware of the dangers).

POST 2Original post

try a nation-wide search on autotrader as well as a national newspaper's website. there are search engines that link to other classifieds w/ 'papers from around the country. you should find > than eighty '00-'01 996s for sale.

POST 3Original post

A friend of mine in Richmond bought a 01 C4 from Euroclassics and was throroughly pleased with the buying process and seemed to get a solid deal. www.euroclassics.com No affiliation, etc. etc.

Humm.... the Turbos are looking better each day..... How much do you have to spend? Like black? -Eli

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the thought Eli, I'm hoping to spend $40K or less.

POST 6Original post

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Alex, I've tried the local dealer and the Richmond dealer, they both have numerous soft tops (there must be a lot of retired hairdressers in the area) but no coupes. However I'm not really keen on paying dealer prices or for a warranty.

POST 9Original post

I've got an 01 C2 {and a 99 strickly for track use} and I'm thinking of ditching the 01 for an 00-03 cab. It's a Lapis Blue heavily optioned 28K babied beauty. Anyone want to trade{for a cab} or buy the 01?

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Pete, Can you give me some details please? Mark

POST 11Original post

Mark: welcome to Charlottesville. You might want to call Colin at CDOC on Preston Ave and see if he knows of something for sale meeting your requirements. Colin is a good guy to know if you are a Porsche guy in Charlottesville. www.cdoc.com Uber PS: there are lots of Porsches around town, including a few Carrera GTs and some Rufs of various vintages. The local PCA chapter turns out about 40 people at monthly meetings. There are also some very high end collectors here with some astonishing vintage Porsches.
