Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

27 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Outcome without a verified action link

Still having a hard time taking the first plunge (besides, alum bezels and C4S mats), but really considering doing so every day.

No unique explicit quoted action; no causal link assigned

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

When I bought my 99 this past March I swore, (to myself) that I would enjoy the Carrera "just the way it is" Now I want exhaust, Aero kit, and I already have the wood shifter and parking brake. Damm

POST 2Original post

Now, now it'll be alright . You only swore the last word in your post. Resitance is futile.

POST 3Original post

Sweat driveway. Love the Goat. There is no resisting the Dark side...must have mods.!

POST 5Original post

No kidding! I've never been the mod type, but being on this board opens up the door to all this evil. I'm like a addict needing a fix. Still having a hard time taking the first plunge (besides, alum bezels and C4S mats), but really considering doing so every day. This site kills me!

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Vivid, you are killing me!!!, Send me a pm on your price for fabspeed!!!

POST 8Original post

POST 9Original post

I swore I was DONE!!!! But I think I have a few more mods coming soon now... It never ends...

POST 10Original post

Ha Ha Ha!!! I started modding my 04 Targa, then lost my mind on launch day and traded it for a 997S (3 weeks after new wheels, a month after PSE and a week after short shifter). I "swore" I would be happy with the 997S as is. Last month, new wheels. Last week, short shifter. Today, PSE. Carnewal pedals. Fabspeed cold air kit. I can't even remember everything! It's a friggin rennlist disease! Kirby, waiting for your new ideas!

POST 11Original post

haha.....Dan at Vivid is fast becoming the forum pusher. Mr. "Bad Influence".

POST 12Original post

Funny when an oil change cost more than a full body kit for a honda.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=36475 I don't think there is decent mod for under $300 bucks on the 996 (shifter maybe?) -Eli

POST 13Original post

Not doing mods is like only going 55mph in 55 zone. Sorry, you were doomed to failure on that one!

POST 14Original post

Dont fight the urge...just open up your wallet and enjoy the mods.

POST 15Original post

You only live once, mod away! Don't save it for the next guy.

POST 16Original post

Ditto to C4S Surgeon. Just remember, if you're married you just might need to balance out all these mods expenses with goodies for the better half....call me shallow but it tones down if not eliminate the nagging. So figure out your cost, multiply by 2 if you're married and enjoy.

POST 17Original post

This method has served me well through the years.

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have always done that. And thats why she was OK with me getting my 2nd Porsche..

POST 20Original post

Rick, When I first got my 996 I intended ti keep it stock. That lasted for about 30 minutes. I have a Gemballa exhaust, large oval tips, Fabspeed intake kit, clear side markers, Gemballa Pedal cover, Porsche car cover and windshield shade for sales if you are interested.

POST 21Original post

Rick, I can't help but ask but if you got a second Porsche, what did your wife get?

POST 22Original post

Would you feel better spending your dollars with me if I told you I drove a Vespa, had 5 kids (Dont know the mothers), half my face is gone, missing an arm, and I live in a pop up camper. just trying to do my job. I enjoy educating and making people happy in the end I myself got my 996 cause it already had wheels, springs, and aero kit. I was done spending 60K on a car to make it nuts. Well I am a GOD DAMN LIAR. I have replaced the aero kit, the wheels, suspension, and just about everything else. I am addicted to my own drug! It never ends!

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey Joe, My wife always wanted, and GOT her Jaguar XJ8, and she loves it...

POST 24Original post

With all the nice cars you have and the wife's got a Jag to boot? All I can say is Sweeeeet...

POST 25Original post

Rick, what made you go with a 996 instead of a 32-valve 928? Performance is similar, at least according to the specs, and it's a lot cheaper. I ask because I just sold my '83 928 and while I'm thinking of getting a black/black 928S4 with 5-speed, I'm tempted by some of the prices I'm seeing on 996s helped by the fact there are a lot more places near me working on 911s than 928s. Emanuel

POST 26 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Emanuel, I would never sell my 928 and replace it with a 911. The purchase of the 911 was only to be an addition and it is a COMPLETELY different car. But I did not feel the need to have two 928's, one is plenty. Just like my kids, I love them both. Lots of luck to you...

POST 27Original post

That pop up camper must be hell to set up with one arm.
