Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

Not to divert the thread too much, but does anyone know how to touch up chips on the stock silver tone shifter (to avoid replacing the entire assembly).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have some slight blemishes on my OEM shifter (on the leather part) and I have always liked the look of the carbon fiber shifter and brake handle. I am wondering what the board thinks about adding these two parts when I don't have any other carbon fiber -- will it look odd without other carbon fiber accents? I have an '02 996 Cab, Orient metallic red with grey interior. No mods (yet).

POST 2Original post

Add the carbon fiber e-brake handle and you will match one of the popular factory options.

POST 3Original post

Not to divert the thread too much, but does anyone know how to touch up chips on the stock silver tone shifter (to avoid replacing the entire assembly). Led, I don't think it would look bad at all. I much prefer a selective application of a few CF parts rather than everything you touch being CF.

POST 4Original post

I have a carbon steering wheel, shifter and handbrake in an all black, all leather interior and like the look. The shifter - handbrake combination is a nice addition to a dark interior, but I think I'd avoid it for light interiors.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

about putting it into a light interior. I am not sure it would look great. Anyone out there have any pics of it in a gray interior? light gray?

POST 6Original post

Yes, it does look great. Both of my Pcars have had CF interiors. The first was a Lapis Blue Boxster S with a Graphite Grey interior. The CF is black/grey and it matches very well with the Graphite Grey. My current is a full black and, again, the CF looks great. If you like the idea of CF, don't worry about whether it will look good. I have pics, but not here. I will try to dig them up.
