Seems more cost effective to find a pair of used sport seats however.

I used these instructions with some minor mods to add heat to my 996.

The swap out of the cushions is pretty easy, but you may need to use an upholstry shop on the backs, they involve hog clips.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Porsche offers heated seats as an option for the Sport Seat. If the seats you buy do not have them, I would think that a very experienced interior shop could make the the swap of the heating mat.
Porsche has not previously offered full power in the regular sport seats, so converting would be very problematic.
Perhaps you should shop for a set of Adaptive Sport Seats that already have the heating option as well.
You know your the second person to tell me that.. but i looked up the 2004 C4S Option List and you can get Sport Seats with Full Power "CSV Electric Sport Seat Left Side $1,690 & CSW Electric Sport Seat Right Side $1,690" But not "Memory"
Now what are Adaptive Sport Seats? did 996 Have em? i know 997 Does...
Okay so insted of starting another thread, i thought id just post in here...
Here is my question... Are the Seat Bottoms (Where you place your Bum) the same on Both Sport and Comfort Seats?
If soooo, i know the Seats are Two Peices... one is Seat Bottom and the other is the Seat Back (The Backrest where you place your Back DUH!!)... Since these two parts detach... in Theory i can just remove the Sport Seats "Back" and Bolt it to my Seat "Bottom", that way Keep Full Power and Memory... Will This work?
I'm pretty sure the cushioning on the sport seat bottom is deeper than the standard seat. I have both (sport seats in the car and my standard heated's in my basement).
zook.
if you buy sport seats from a 996 that have heating in them already, you should be set. they are out there, best to wait. otherwise an aftermarket heated seat install can be performed by any competent shop.
If the spoprt seats don't have the heating elements you can buy the replacement foam cushions with the heating elements in them for several hundred dollars. What year are the seats, the part numbers vary alittle from year to year. I can look them up for you on my PET software. the heated cushiions are vailable for all years. the goe to

for detailed instructions on upgrading to heated seats in a boxster. I used these instructions with some minor mods to add heat to my 996. Not to hard, and I had to do all the wiring, etc. The swap out of the cushions is pretty easy, but you may need to use an upholstry shop on the backs, they involve hog clips.
The sport and normal seat bottoms are not the same. The cushions on the sport seats are deeper, or the bolsters are higher...but its not super dramatic in my opinion.
I had not even thought of doing this until you brought it up. I have both style seats in my basement, and just set them side by side. The thigh bolsters are a little different, but I believe it will work. I am going to try it. The seat bottoms of the sport seats are exactly the same as the seat bottoms of the TT comfort seat, except the TT seat has the added power. I can't see why it wouldn't work, and can't believe I hadn't thought of doing it. Thanks for the idea. It may be a few weeks before I get around to doing it, but if you haven't tried first I will let you know how it goes.
I could but I don't think you could tell with my photography skills anyway. It doesn't look much different anyway but feels tighter against your leg, and I have chicken legs. It does feel deeper too like was said, but side by side, they look almost exactly the same, except sport seats hold you in better. You will be giving up a little of the sport, assuming it works, but still have your power and heat. Maybe I can get my wife to take some shots. I'm pretty clueless with a camera
I have that on 986 mand 996 and never used it. No one ever drives the cars but me. Wife has her 968 and Miata. She like the Miata a 90 model better than anything. The clutch is better she says
It suits me.
Sport Seats never came with MEMORY in the 996, Only Option that there was, Full Power "CSV Electric Sport Seat Left Side $1,690 & CSW Electric Sport Seat Right Side $1,690"...
This Hack Job wil be the First i am guessing
NR auto.com makes a kit, I was considering this.
