Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

23 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I picked up what I thought were two 996 mufflers in very good to excellent shape. the seller shipped them for me to Fister D in Cali. turns out both mufflers are the passenger side They are practically brand new.... Does anyone have one or possibly two driver side ( left) mufflers laying around? It's better if they have the accordion elbow ( per Darin) for Tip 996's due to vibration. Darin is holding onto the mufflers in case some siblings show up.... thanks, ed.

POST 8Original post

Muffler mistake sounds like the work of an unscrupulous seller...I bet Ed will have better luck wih his future modding choices...

POST 10Original post

Could ask the seller for a remedy. Shaky path though. If he does have plenty on porsche parts it might of been a mistake by a guy from the stock department which he could fix. Then again some guys lie their way out of and around any situation. Good luck.

I'm still in the crawl phase ..lol.. Being an intelligent ebayer, but a Pcar neophyte..I should have spotted the similarities in the mufflers...now I'm (or actually Darin) holding onto these until the opportunity comes along... here's the ebay pic..can you see the fubar??? one is a 3.4, the other one has the cap end..does that make it a 3.6?

POST 14Original post

WOW - drunk seller? that is BS... did he state anything like... these are both the same side of the car, what did you pay (PM if you would rather) sorry about that man... he maybe just didnt know.... some ebay people just find junk and "guess" they dont really know what they found but it's worth money !!

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, I spoke to him, he sounded sincere. it was the only Pcar parts he had. he did not have the driver side twin. He did not state in the ad(s) that they were for the same side. I got skunked! oh yeah, based on Porsche prices...I got a great deal, but for the layman Pcar owner..how does $325 shipped sound?? I'm moving on..Fly996 hooked a brother up....

Did you buy the FisterD modified mufflers he was selling? If so, you beat me to it by a couple of hours! Now, I'm looking for options - has anyone heard of the SpeedTech exhausts?

I believe FisterD came up with a way to make this worth something last year. I would PM him to double check.
