Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I pulled a massive bonehead move and broke my handbrake base while adjusting it. So Im going to order a replacement off fleabay. But I cant find one that has the same black leather with silver PORSCHE logo grip. Im thinking I could swap the grip off my old one onto the replacement. But taking off the grip doesnt seem straightforward by inspecting it. Does anyone have tips? Thanks!

POST 6Original post

Alumaweld Propane torch and 2 minutes you are done. I am not a welder metal worker or anything. Just a driveway mechanic, not even a garage mechanic anymore since I lost that in the divorce! Doesn't look as pretty as new but it's hidden under the console so never seen!

Thanks for the inspiration! I might give it a try. Like you, Im 100% NOT a welding capable weekend garage guy.
