Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
I wonder what tires both of them were running since they both seemed to be going easy.
Leading evidence: 'Run since they both seemed' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run since they both seemed' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Wet track really hurt in the end crash yuck. I kind of think the turbo was wanting to play with the guy seeing him not taking what I'd think is a faster line. Pretty sad the ending. I wonder what tires both of them were running since they both seemed to be going easy. I'm a believer of higher revs in turn to turn it into a dead skid to power out with all I can muster if need be when pushing it.
That was some of the worst driving by both parties I've ever seen. The 993 guy couldn't pick worse lines if he tried, and the 996 guy, well, WTF was that at the end.
Sad turn of events. It didn't look like a race, more of a DE. If it was DE and not a race, then those two drivers were nuts for dicing at the corners like they were doing.
As far as the lines go, I believe they were taking the "dry line in the wet", not what would be the usual fast line in the dry. The turbo was, anyway, since he could power out on the straight. The C2 was taking the apeces (apexes?) more, but was getting into the wet more.
That's the Hockenheim ring, they have a short and long track, south of Frankfurt close to Mannheim/Heidelberg.
I've watched several races there but never saw anyone slide into the stadum turn before, ha.
So what happened to the 996, hope it didn't roll, but the camera fell off its mount.
Note to self: don't try and make up 100 meter gap with late braking, ha.
Ouch, did look a little like an accident waiting to happen.
I agree with Pac996, the turbo was playing with him, and if Palting's right and this was a DE or open track day (which it does look like) that dive up the inside at around 4min was just crazy. I think the red mist was coming down.

I disagree. I think the 993 driver was just that bad. He missed every apex (often by yards), began braking too early and too softly so he often went way too deep. It was obvious (even though I've never driven this track) that his line was consistently wrong.
The 996 driver had more skill (relative to the 993 driver), but was very poor in his passing technique. I think others hit the nail on the head. Way too much red mist trying to dive bomb a pass with the offline wet.
Ouch, that hurt to watch......
The wet track is the wild card in this equation. The Turbo should have been able to lap the 996. Hard to tell if it was lack of skill or cautious driving on the Turbo.
The racing line was mostly dry. Even if the Turbo driver were skilled but cautious I can't see any good reason to blow so many of the apexes in the manner he did.
Plus with far more HP and AWD, (as you pointed out) he should have had no trouble gaping what sounded like a fairly stock 996 (other than on the straights).
