The major difference between my car and your car, other than the mileage, is I didn't have to clean the cobwebs out of the engine bay.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

OK Ed, here are a few more pics of my "dearly departed love"..... no, not my wife.... my 996!
All of my other pics are back in Dallas and I am out of town.
Van, I posted one pic a couple of days ago to show someone the dual exhaust tips on my car. When Ed saw the pic, he mentioned that he hadn't seen pics of my car. He joined RL after I sold my car, so I thought I would share some pics I had.
No, he is not too lazy to search, he is just tied up on ebay all of the time looking for items that won't fit on his 996! <== That's got to be a full time job!
Not to derail this thread too much. But a lot of you guys reference Gert at carnewal.com for OEM stuff. What I don't get is why buy from overseas? Isn't the customs charge, freight, and crappy exchange rate really worth the effort or net savings?
Awe ****, Steve! You don't post here on the 996 Forum for weeks and then you see this thread.
Uhmmm..... yeah, you are right.
If I had to do it all over again, they WOULD be on your car!
Ed, I leased my car and before it went back to the leasing company, I gave my MK II modded 3.6 mufflers to Steve and took his stock 3.6 mufflers. The leasing company took pics of the car before the swap and I thought they might notice I had swapped exhaust tips, which is why I didn't give them to Steve.
This next one is just going to kill you. You also missed out on THIS party:
Mod removal completed - goodies listed inside
AWE - I see...........
well you have me thinking
and
when the day comes,
I AINT GIVING **** AWAY
LMAO!!!!
Thats cool Tim. Shows what type of guy you are..... generous, caring, kind, thoughtful.
No, the Honda gets parked in the driveway and sits there until I get back in town, which is either every week or every other week. I think it has been washed (at the car wash) about 4 or 5 times in 19 months. So.... are you feelin' the love I have for the Honda?
The best thing about working out of town is that I don't have to drive the Honda everyday!
Steve,
Here, let me save you the trouble. Here are 3 pics from a Dallas area Cars & Coffee meet on 7-5-08. I think the Honda fits right in with the group!
The way I see it, if you can't make fun of yourself, you have no right to make fun of anyone else. OK, I made fun of myself, so the rest of you are now "fair game!"
Tim - We should start a thread on mod's to Hondas. Lets start with painting the calipers yellow. I can see the huge caliper on the front tire of your white Honda sig, begging to get the PCCB look.
Damn, what's that white coupe in the foreground? It's da bomb!! I don't know what it is, but it puts the P-cars to shame. Looks like it's got 12 coats of Zaino on it. And those wheels?!!? I'm speechless. Awesome, just awesome.
Yep, there was my friends car when I introduced him to the Dallas 911 crowd. Every time I vouched for him that he really did own a 911...at one time, they just rolled their eyes? LOL
See this was before he was a big shot lifetime rennlist member, WooooHooooo!
Tim, the picture with the trunk open makes me laugh. I used to do the opposite with my 996. Pull into a show and park in a line with front engine cars all with the hoods open to show off the motors and make sure mine was open to impress them with my trunk
If things work out on the job front for a permanent position (I am doing some consulting work right now), it could be later this year.... at the earliest, in the Fall.
Most likely, it will not be a 996. I will probably try to get a 997.
I know.... I know, it would have oval headlights, but don't hold that against me.
Ordering one is out of the question, but if I could do that, here is what I would order:
997.2 C2S
Carrara White
Sea Blue Full Leather
6 MT
Sport Exhaust System
Sport PASM
Power Comfort Seats with Driver Memory
Heated Seats
Self Dimming Mirrors
Thicker 3-Spoke Steering Wheel Smooth Leather
Rear Center Console in Leather
Door Finishers in Leather
Storage Compartment Lid with Model Logo
Gear Lever Trim in Leather
Leather Sun Visors
Door Entry Guards in Stainless Steel
BOSE High End Sound Package
However, I really haven't given it much thought.
What... my Honda? Yeah, I drive it. I has about 8K miles on it and is 19 months old.
Oh, you probably were asking about the 996.
Actually, it was my DD for 39 months. During that time I logged about 45K miles on her.
Thanks (I am assuming you were referring to the 996 and NOT my Honda)
The pedals are "gray market" pedals I got off ebay. They have the PORSCHE letters on them, and as I recall, they were about $110.
Hey Tim,
I think I forgot to tell you that my 77 year old Dad bought a 996 maybe the same color combo as your car was. Pic below. He loves it and drives it to my races and around town trying to pick up chicks
That ain't right?
Yeah you told me, but I hadn't seen pic of it. His car is sweet looking, GREAT color combo! It's too bad you didn't get your dad's taste in car colors.
It's a tip. He wanted my car and after I bought the 964 turbo I told him that I was pretty much out of the car buying mood so the next thing I know he found this car in California on the internet and called to tell me to buy it for him. He said that "at his age he didn't have time to wait on me to sell"! LOL!
