Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

https://www.thedrive.com/tech/39377/the-diy-hero-who-built-a-koenigsegg-style-freevalve-miata-engine-is-making-it-open-source After reading this article it got me thinking, how amazing would this technology be on the M96. Is it even possible to convert it? I feel like this opens up a world of opportunities for future modifications. Feel free to chime in

Give me an OEM M96.73 over this any day.

POST 5Original post

Apparently he has a Porsche based go kart so you might see something in the future.

POST 6Original post

This technology is amazing and could enable the lifespan on the ICE; but I expect we wont see it retrofitted on past engines much if at all on a large scale.

^^^ Agree. Awesome technology, and will certainly see some retrofitting, but the real juice will be when this becomes more common and leads to more power out of less displacement. cool tech!

Part of the idea is that someone like FSI would develop something like this. I do agree it is very unlikely to happen but just thought it is an interesting technology that would be cool to see on the M96 platform.

POST 9Original post

This tech has been used extensively on modern cargo ship diesel engines, the sort that produce 100,000 HP at 100 RPM. It's handy in that application because the prop is directly connected to the engine. To go backwards, you run the engine backwards. This usually takes two sets of camshafts or a complex camshaft with forward and astern cam lobes. The electronic valves don't have that requirement. Obviously the valve action is a little slower at 100 RPM and the valves are operated by hydraulics.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
