Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have also asked them to send the inspection report, the Carfax was clean though.

If not, do you recommend taking the car to different Porsche dealer for the PPI to get an unbiosed inspection?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
I am just about to get my first Porsche (996 00-01) and I am pretty thrilled about it. Based on the threads on this forum I will probably go with a Porsche Approved and Certified car to be on the safe side.
Would you still recommend doing a PPI? Or is the 110+ point inspection (together with the warrenty) made by Porsche sufficient? If not, do you recommend taking the car to different Porsche dealer for the PPI to get an unbiosed inspection?
Thanks in advance!
/Daniel
I just purchased a car from PA ( I live in NM) and it is certified. I did not do PPI b/c I figured anyone could lie to me and I could not fly to PA to see car. I am depending on the certification program for quality. My car should be delivered to me the end of this week or beginning of next and then we will see.
Thanks Mundman,
Let me know how it goes, I am just about to fly down to CA to see the car, but I'm still debating wether or not a PPI is necessary with the Approved stamp... Do you know if RMS is covered by the extended warrenty?
thanks

I bought my 996CAB as a CPO and the documentation I got with the car stated that the 100+ PPI inspection was part of the CPO. I also got a copy of the PPI in my purchase packet of papers from the dealer as well as my official CPO package from PCNA.
Yes, the Porsche certification process includes the PPI. I leased the car new from the dealer, then bought it at the lease end. I got it with the certification and PPI. Now, why would I get a PPI when the previous owner was me, you might ask. It was necessary that the car go through the PPI certification process to get the extended warranty.
And, yes, the extended warranty from PCNA includes the RMS.
If it's a MY '00, though, the extension might be good only for a year. As I understand it, the warranty is extended to 6 years from the original first purchase, or 100,000 miles whichever comes first. If it was first purchased Jan 2000, the warranty would only extend it to January 2006.
If the car was put into service in Jan. '00, the four year warranty is now expired. Therefore the CPO warranty would be two years, up to 100k mi from the CPO purchase date.
Check out the in-service date. It is 6 years 100K total miles from the in-service date if there is ANY warranty left or 2 yrs 100K miles from date of your purchase if it is past the 4 yr 50K warranty term.
