I am about ready to go for the X74 suspension and was thinking about 5mm spacers also. Any opinions?

They won't hurt. Some have even gone as large as 20mm.

Porsche reccomends 5MM. In fact they have a 5MM spacer kit that has (4) 5MM spacers and new lugs and locks to accomodate the size change. I picked up a set recently and they look fantastic.
