Others with later models having the 100mm spacer have complained also and when they installed the new spacer the glass stopped rattling.

I even used a paper thin spatula to hold the weather stripping away from the glass to ensure I saturated everything.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I finally found the source of the creaking/squeaking noise. If I just slightly touch the side rear window it makes a cracking type of noise.
This is what I hear in my left ear while driving constantly, I thought it was my seat belt adjuster but it is not, it's the window.
I lubed the hell out of it with dry teflon and it did nothing, still creaks and cracks.
I thought I remembered a post about this before.
I appreciate all help on this as I can't stand driving the car with this noise.
Thanks
Pedro's "Ice Wax" does the trick. Bruce Anderson of Excellence Magazine recommends it. Order the spray can so you get the tube-nozzle (like a can of WD40). It's some kind of wax molecularly modified so it sprays into narrow crevices. My windows have been silent now for months after one application. I know what you mean about touching them even slightly and they start creaking like crazy. All fixed with Pedros.

Thanks, I read your older post regarding Pedros and did some research on it. It is a tefon/parrafin based product for mountain bike chains and I couldn't find it at any bike stores here, but did find an identical product that I have just applied around both the inside and outside of the windows.

I'm so bummed out that right now I am driving a rental Honda because I can't take the constant creaking sound right next to my ear.

Take the car to the dealer, they are so good af fixing creaks and rattles, mine has done that since the day i picked it up, When i took it in for the first service they repaired them all......Now i can hear my self think..........No creaks and my damm car is damm quiet with the stock Mufflers!
The problem is most likely caused by the spacer block between the window and the retaining rail. If the spacer becomes dislodged or deformed the window comes in contact with with the retaining rail causing the creaking or rattling. Its a simple fix by replacing the 100 mm spacer.
This was a fairly common problem with the early 1999 C2 models. Porsche came out with a technical sefvice bulletin #6475 addressing the issue for this model. Others with later models having the 100mm spacer have complained also and when they installed the new spacer the glass stopped rattling.
Using the spray product is really only treating the symptom and is not getting at the root of the problem. Take the car to your service center and ask them about replacing the spacer. If they say it takes more than 30 minutes they are ripping you off. I did my car in 20 minutes...
Good luck
Thanks a TON guys! I'm going to the dealer tomorrow and will keep all informed.
I'm telling you now this is the worst creaking I've ever heard from a car ever! even worse than my beater 2001 Ford Ranger. Now thats bad.
