That's one of the main reasons that I jerked it and installed an aftermarket Pioneer unit.

You can use their built in FM transmitter to play the music through the car's stereo system.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Tomorrow I will start my 2500mi journey driving a new to me C4S from Houston to Halifax and trying to figure out what to bring music wise (will miss my sirius).
So question is: does the bose premium on a 03 car, play MP3's?
Thanks
Don't know, but do like I did (Kentucky - NY), FM transmitter or cassette adapter ( although the adapter may not work on an '03). Just bring lots of music, podcast, audiobooks, etc.
Nope, no mp3s...at least the Bose in my '04 Targa didn't. That's one of the main reasons that I jerked it and installed an aftermarket Pioneer unit.
If I were you embarking on such a trip, I'd buy one of the Garmin units that plays mp3s from an SD card. You can use their built in FM transmitter to play the music through the car's stereo system. So for a modest expense, you get navigation, some mp3 playing ability, and bluetooth for your cellphone. Something along the lines of a Garmin Nuvi 765 should work for you.
"MP3s, they're a fad, they'll never catch on. For $80k, our customers want the tried and true 6-disk CD changer. Now, about adding another 20 speakers to our brilliant Bose system..."
It is pretty funny that Porsche was selling such archaic technology for so long.
What year did Mazda introduce the Protege MP3? 2001? Mazda. Protege.
My '02 has the CR-220 with cassette holders in the console -- might as well be an 8-track set-up, for all it's worth. I do have the Bose system, with CD changer, but unlike all the discerning audiophiles on this forum, I really like the sound of it. Then again, after driving a 964 daily for 5 years, any system that you can hear while the car is moving sounds wonderful!
about 2500 miles, will be back in Halifax friday night, back to work this weekend. At least 2 14 hour days in there. Looking forward to it.
Will look for the aux mod. Sitting at airport now, getting up at 3:30 am sucks.
