Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Lubricate suggestions' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Lubricate suggestions' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

'02 Targa Workshop Manual -- have some rattles and am looking for the manual for some guidance -- the only one I can find online is for up to 2000 and it does not include the Targa -- any tips -- thanks
I don't have any help but I got some rattling also that I'd like to chase.
the main one coming from the front on the area around the dome light.
you got the same?
also, I'm sure my top needs to be lubricated, what's the correct product? anyone?
Pete
I tried putting a little lithium grease in the tracks and it did less than nothing. So that clearly isn't the source of the "sunny day squeak" when opening and closing the roof. I'm open to other lubricating suggestions.

Mmmm... seems there is a need to share some info here.
My Targa is a 2002 with 80,000 klms and so far as I can see there has not been any update work done -- ie the new parts and rework that would have been done if my car's first owner had have complained on noise under warranty (but I cannot know for sure).
I have had a read of the RennTech TSB's on the subject and one refers to the abovementioned new parts and rework and the other refers to adjustment and both direct the technician to assemble and adjust as per the workshop manual.
So that's why I search for the '02 manual because the up to '00 manual does not (so far as I can see) have the Targa top info because it was not made then.
Regarding lubricant, I tried silicon spray on the rubbers to no effect.
The noise I have is actual movement in the roof that sounds sort of like a rattle but it is hard to locate -- sometimes it sounds like it's in the front and sometimes in the rear and so on.
But -- the noise goes when the Targa roof is opened a little -- confirming to me that the noise is "from" the roof system.
Apart from the manual link I seek does anyone know:
1 - How to do the adjustments or roof set-up?
2 - What the update retrofit kit actually does?
Thanks
