Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all! The CPO on my 2003 runs out in August. I am not planning on an extended warranty. [I have 3 late model cars/trucks at the moment, and figured 3 extended warranties adds up to most major repairs.] I will go in for my 45K checkup, but wondered what extra you think I should have looked at. My dealer is by-the-book, so nothing comes free. Car is running really smooth. To date: New clutch at 42K (RMS looked fine). Oil consumption has always been at the high-end, but not enough for Porsche to take action. (I paid for compression and leakdown [only 2% avg, by the way]). We did change the AOS a while ago. My thoughts: Pay for new plugs and have them borescope the cylinders. [regarding oil consumption] Might need new brake pads. [There, I spelled it right for the first time!] Other items to check before coverage runs out? Thanks all

POST 2Original post

I'm in the same position. I'm having my 30K done next week and told the service advisor it's the last time they will see it before the CPO expires in November. I've had the RMS done so they will check that again. Other than that, anything they find is basically money in their pocket so it's in their interest to find things.....

POST 3Original post

Take your car to reputable independant Porsche shop and have them inspect it before you take it to the dealer.
