Thants why I changed (in parallel) to the Mintex front brake pads and OEM rears....less brake dust and infrequent cleaning.

The car should be delivered here Friday...and I'm going to drive it for a week or so before I decide on what to do with the wheels....but I'm truly smitten by your wheels Mike....they have just the right amount of spokes....not too many to clean, yet spaced enough to let the rotors show through.....they just look classy to me in the polished presentation.
Leading evidence: 'Replace (in parallel)' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'simple misunderstanding' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). Pothole damage, and John took them back, replaced both outer rims and shipped back.

I'm sure the 19" version of these would have filled the wheel wells for looks better.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

I picked the T10s primarily for their widely spaced spokes(but plenty enough to any future track use) for ease of washing(easy reach to the inside of therims).
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Received the CCWheels today! I picked the 18" T10s as I posted before. I weighed them with the tires/Mich PS Rib. They are significantly lighter than my OEM Sports Design with Contis.
CCW T10s with Mich PS Rib(18")
F 41.8 lbs (18X8.5)
R 48.2 lbs (18X10)
OEM Sports Design with Contis(18")
F 44.8 lbs (18X8)
R 54.6 lbs (18X10)
I'm not affiliated with CCW, just a happy customer. These small co. is in Daytona, FL. John, the owner and hands on maker of the wheels, took the time to explain the process on how they make them out of forged 6061 T6 alum blocks. I've been working aviation maintnenance for 20+ years and I could tell how nicely and carefully these wheels were made. The custom billet alum center caps with OEM Porsche crest are awesome too.

I've seen a couple of Listers here that have the different designs too.

Here are some pictures. I know the 19s would have fill up my wheel wells really good, but I like these 18's for performance.
Very nice looking wheels, grats!
Any issues with the 8.5" front vs. the standard 8"? I was disappointed to see that they don't offer it in 18x8.
Any chance of some close-up shots? The pics on the CCW website are really distant, as are yours. Your model is much nicer than the one they use ('vette), but I'd still like to see more detail, up close and at angles.
Yeah Alex,
I contemplated a lot getting the SP16s like you have!
I'm just lazy to clean that many spokes
Yours really look awesome on your dark blue carrera
Thanks!
Thanks. I don't see any issues with the 8.5 for the fronts. The front 225 tires look just a little spread. I'll post some close up pix in a bit
1 inch in front & 2 inches on the rears.
The wheels were $2700. I added the PS2 for tire rack price, and $55 for each of the locking billet alum center cap pieces with oem porsche crest which are every nice.
Thanks Amir. Yes the spokes are thin in the front but are
thicker in the back side for strenght
. They're
tapered
as you could see in this pix. John really did good on the design of these IMHO.
i don't like the wheels as i think 911s look best with a mesh style center (BBS), but i will say i love what you've done to the body of the car. looks 100x than stock. great.
BG & Arnee,
Thanks!
All wheels from CCW are custom made. I think that they don't make em unless they are ordered. Like
Tim/Gota911
said, the T10s are made in 18s. Mine are 18s.
I know they are all custom, what I meant was if is a one off just for you. This is what John said when I emailed him a few weeks ago. I was told only the C10 and C14 was available.
Me- "-Is it possible to get the 5x130 bolt pattern put in the SP16a or T10. I really do prefer that rim style over the C10."
John- "yes but i dont have 18" forgings with the right cross section, only 19"
Maybe I will ask him again in a few months when I am palnning on buying a set. Probably a simple misunderstanding on my part.

I hat it too!! I had it off for a while. The cops have not bothered me, BUT the base, where I work, warned me evermorning I have to go through the gates. The gate guard finally told me one morning that it was the last time he's letting me through without the front tags
Thanks! I wanted to powdercoat them but didn;t trust the local shop on their heating process. I dissassembled them myself. Took the centers off and had them just painted with the toughest black paint.
Spring,
Sorry, I didn't mean that in a wrong manner. I misunderstood you.
Call John. He's very nice to talk to. Relaxed and no pressure. He's very enthusiastic about his wheels.
Mike: I went on CCW's site and saw what looks like your car shown as an example of what they'd look like on a Porsche....are you affiliated with the company?
I cancelled my order for a set of Champions because I liked the look of your wheels....did you get the center caps thru CCW also or another source? Are those center caps metal or plastic? I've sent CCW an email inquiring about them.
For some they may be "bling", but to others they look great. They just seem to go with certain colors.
Chuck,
I'm definitely
NOT
affiliated with CCW nor any shop. I'm just a happy customer of CCW particularly. John(Owner I think) is a genuine enthusiasts. He love to talk about cars and wheels specs of course. You know when a person is being genuine to you.. he's one of them. He does the work himself.
The center caps are from a shop nearby him, I think. They're(CAPS) billet aluminum with genuine Porsce crest! Not plastics.
Thanks!
Dell,
My buddy an I left Sunday lunch. We were just watching and taking photos. I'll be posting those soon by the way.
I'm guessing you dont like running th esouth course and just doing the full Monday?
Chuck I forgot to mention to you... John is kinda behind with emails. At least during my inquiry. You'll get faster results calling him. He answered the phone even after business hours.
Good luck.. ~Mike
Chuck, I also dealt with John over at CCW. Very knowledgable on wheel offsets for P-cars. He should be able to address all you questions if you call him.
Aben and Mike: I called John as you suggested...he was most helpful and a walking encyclopaedia of facts and figures for Porsche wheels/tires.
Nice looking wheels. CCW makes one of the best wheels out there for the money, light, strong, and John will make them to your specs. I went with the 3-piece Track Classics years ago and swap them from car to car.
Mike: I'm still smitten with the first ones you posted....the eight spoke model...I think they called it the T10....and after a really nice exhaust system, that may well be my next purchase..........but FIRST comes the fire extinguisher.
Steve: I don't think you can beat the quality of the CCW wheels for the price.
CCWs on my Cobra. They were great to deal with. Pothole damage, and John took them back, replaced both outer rims and shipped back. Like new and back within 2 weeks. They are still working on the 505s with black centers so I went with HRE on the P.
Well....thanks to Carrera Mike and a number of you other folks, I just got off the phone with John and ordered a set of the T 10's with Michelin Pilot Sport II tires as a complete package....including the really nice looking Porsche crest center caps.
Thanks Mike for posting and for your followup to my questions. As you said, John, the owner...was extremely helpful and took the time to go through his manufacturing process...how he keeps the costs down and passes that savings on to us....and how he gives us the same price for tires as the Tire Rack. His business is truly a one-stop shopping center for wheels with the added pleasure of a one-on-one conversation with the owner....who happens to be VERY knowledgeable.
Mike...IIRC....did I see one of your later posts where you had gone to the black centers rather than the polished wheel? You had a discussion thread going earlier about which looked better, and last I saw, you had decided back then to stay with the polished wheels. I know that there's a big following for the black or painted centers, but I am staying with the polished look. For those of you who invariably sit back there and think to yourself.....I wonder how much he's paying......I'll just tell you. The whole enchilada, wheels, Pilot Sport II, mounted, balanced, center caps, and lug caps, and shipping charges..came to $4375. That's a bunch cheaper than a set of Champions or Fiske's alone...
Thanx again for passing on the pictures and info. John said that he doesn't spend any money on advertising...and that all his sales come as a result of discussion threads like this. He also said that he's been deluged lately with requests for wheels for the GT3 wheels and has just invested some big bucks in new machinery. I would imagine that he's going to step up production becasue right now, I think his demand is outstripping his supply. FWIW....he keeps no inventory on hand....and fills orders by manufacturing the wheels as he gets the order. That helps him keep his requirement for warehousing down and keeps his costs far below that of the other well known manufacturers. He's been primarily dealing with the Corvette crowd....but lately, the Porsche folks have been seeking him out.
John said that he thinks he can have my wheels and tires to me by next Friday....that's service!! I'll post pics when I get them.
Chuck
I'm putting my winter wheels on very soon... next spring I'm going to need to tires, I'm thinking I would like to do the same thing. Those wheels look really nice.

Is911: These wheels are NOT chrome. They're made out of a solid block of aircraft aluminum and cut down on a computerized lathe....then are polished to get that finish. They will dull a bit over time, but John gave me the three step process for keeping them looking like new and sealing them so that the brake dust doesn't cake up. He uses an aluminum cleaner followed by Mother's Billet polish (the $11 one not the cheaper one) and finish up with Rejex for a sealant....but the process requires you to not drive the car for 48 hours while the Rejex sealant sets up, but when you're done, they look spiffy and stay that way.
Apologies on the chrome ignorance. My bad, thanks for pointing it out to me Chuck. No wonder I felt "almost converted". Now I can put the struggle to rest and go back to chrome hating
Mike, I am a bit partial to black wheels on love the black on SY look (great pics!). You are fortunate on having both these wheel options available. Hot blonde on one side, beautiful brunette on the other.
