Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I think the idle sound is a bit odd, although it could be that the camera is not picking up the sound very well. However, I think the car sounds great when the throttle is pressed.
I know I have the unpopular opinion on this but it just did not do it for me. I would take the sound of a 996-7 with PSE or most after market mufflers. The idle sounded way to rough, like holes in mufflers
The revving had that rice burner sound
It was for certainly not music to my ears.
I am ready for my beat down now
the only cars that sound incredible to me is the pagani zonda and carrera gt. and throw in a few ferraris here and there with aftermarket exhausts. no 911s. none.
Nobody wants to burn rice, for sure!
It idles rough as if it has some wild cams. All H6's sound like that, however. It sounds good to me, especially at high rpm.
LS is on point. the regular carreras with PSE can compete with the most exotic 911s in the sound dept. i'm not down with the super loud, brappy, race car sounding like 911s.
it sounds like unrefined ****. i tend to like more of the massaged noises. falsetto.
Exactly, I went to two ALMS races last year, and the Porsches (ok, and Ferraris) sound great, and the Vettes/Cadillacs/Mustangs are just loud and obnoxious.
Of course the R10 is almost silent as it goes by... really strange.
Anyway, I dig the clip.
I think the camera wasn't picking up some low frequencies that are actually there.
Ben, I've stood about 6-8 ft. behind at least a half-dozen Cup cars at the PCA Club race at Daytona the past two years when they were being gridded up. They sound of those cars lighting up still gives me goosebumps. The sounds are absolutely uncivilized.
Granted, I wouldn't want my street car to sound like that because I would be afraid of getting pulled over every couple of miles. And my PSE is music to my ears. But, I think you should hook up with JimB and see if he can change your mind about a 911 race car.
For those who may be partial to the F-Car sound, here is a short clip of a Stradale on track. What an awesome sound!!! It's a pretty cool comparison to the 997 GT3RS clip I posted earlier.

Damn, I am going through P-Car withdrawal!!! The roads here are nothing but snow, ice, and piles of salt. To get my fix I am sitting here watching car clips on You Tube. Pathetic!!! HAHA
Ah...MUSICA para mis orejas!
I know how you feel, we had a once in 15 yrs bad winte here, hang on.
I just took mine out for the fist time in months yesterday
She ran like a dream
Here is a background to get you over the hump. Just add your sound clips and hit the road. Phil probably has more to choose from
hehe i like people who like to step up to a challenge.
but seriously, i've heard the no-cats, race cats, larini, capristo, borla, tubi.... blah blah blah the only sounds i go nutz over is the cgt. my bud's ferrari was sweet, but not gah gah levels.
zonda sounds crazy.. there's a zonda f youtube clip up where it sounds like a pack of wolves screaming for some deer meat.
but i guess it's also the car that's associated with the sound that has a huge effect on how much we like it or not... imagine the cgt sound on a gmc pick-up truck.. not quite the same.
I thought it sounded a bit weird at idle, maybe just the lousy mic. I love the sound off the throttle just after redline between the gears ( I don't know what that is called) very early 911 RS-ish. I'm sorry but anybody that would nail the throttle in 1st and 2nd in-between parked cars on both sides of a narrow street like that is an idiot who makes others think that all Porsche drivers are dangerous and inconsiderate. It would be impossible to avoid a kid who ran out between those cars chasing a ball, balloon, playing tag, etc. Anybody with kids knows what I mean. I nail my Porsche all the time, but not on crowded streets.
